Prismo and Elle Vee Join Forces for Breathtaking Single, “Ignite”

In a collision of electronic music bravura, Prismo and Elle Vee have joined forces for a riveting single called “Ignite.” “Ignite” arrives by way of Lost In Dreams, a record label launched by Insomniac to focus on future bass, melodic dubstep and electronic pop music. It’s the first single in two years for the versatile Prismo, whose brushstroke is as fluid and formidable as ever. Serenaded by a dark and sultry guitar riff, the production of “Ignite” is slow-burning until an electrifying drop takes hold with a gripping bass patch. It’s here where the intensity of the track’s lyrical elements align with its heart-racing sound design, exploring the difficulties of resuscitating the spark of a moth-eaten relationship with a ...

Crystal Skies and MitiS Reunite With Linney for Melodic Bass Anthem, “Gone”

Longtime collaborators MitiS and Crystal Skies have teamed up with Linney for “Gone,” out now on Insomniac’s Lost in Dreams imprint. “Gone” is something fans of MitiS and Crystal Skies’ previous collaborations will undoubtedly gravitate to. Linney’s stentorian vocals lead listeners into a dreamy soundscape painted with melancholic guitar riffs, organic percussive elements, and subtle piano chords. As the drop makes its way in, its synths take centerstage, curating that heartfelt future bass sound we all crave from this pairing of producers. “Gone” is the first single from Crystal Skies’ forthcoming debut album, which is due out on February 11th, 2022. With a little under a month until the full record drops, eager fans should ...

How It All Started: Fairlane Talks Upbringing and Emergence Into the Electronic Music Scene

Canadian electronic producer Fairlane has been musical for most of his life.  At a very young age, his parents had him enrolled in piano classes, where he first got a taste of music and performing. Unfortunately, it was a bitter memory, as Fairlane recalls making a minor mistake during a piano recital when he was 10 years old. “I vowed to never perform music again,” he tells EDM.com. Eventually, Fairlane got over that mishap and went on to play in a band. However, there was one small problem: he did not know how to read sheet music. “I’ve always learned everything by ear,” he explained. “I had the same problem with piano. I would just practice and memorize it and so I froze up when I went to read music because I was unable to read the music.” A...
