Nicola Coughlan Jokes About Real Life After Wearing Ultra Plunging Dress at Palace Party

Nicola Coughlan has proven that the life of a celebrity is not all glitz and glamour. The "Bridgerton" star took to Instagram on 17 Sept. to give her followers a little insight into her week, ranging from a plush party at Kensington Palace wearing an ultra plunging designer gown to deep cleaning her bathroom. "Wednesday I was at a party in a Palace, Sunday I'm deep cleaning the bathroom and that's just life baby!" she captioned the photo of her dressed up to the nines at the midweek event. The actor attended the ATG Summer Party at the royal residence wearing a stunning black Rodarte dress. The design featured a deep, revealing neckline in cutout lace with tapered puff sleeves to balance out the flared bias cut, paired with Garrard earrings. Coughlan's hair was styled in an updo by Sophie ...

Florence Pugh Opens London Fashion Week Wearing a Cutout Corset and Sequinned Cape

London Fashion Week opened with a touch of Hollywood glamour on 16 Feb., courtesy of Florence Pugh. The actor made a surprise appearance on the runway of the Harris Reed autumn / winter 23 show at the Tate Modern wearing a harlequin sequin skirt with thigh-high slit, black corset top with hip cutouts, and a huge disc hat as she delivered an opening monologue to kick off the show. "Clothing has transformative power, whether for an actor or simply a performer on the stage of life, the art of dressing up allows us to express who we truly are, creating a safe space to inhabit in a sometimes judgmental world," she said while walking the spotlit runway. Bringing drama to the capital, the newly-appointed creative director of Nina Ricci took inspiration from William Shakespeare's "As You Like It"...

London Fashion Week Street Style Favoured Oceanic Blues, Playful Pink, and Electric Orange

London Fashion Week is back for physical events, showroom appointments, and the best of the city’s street style. Despite storm Eunice trying to commandeer the pavements, attendees showed up in full force, wearing vivid oranges, playful pinks, oceanic turquoise, and lapis blues. From the best of LFW street style, we handpicked a few fashion trends that showgoers are loving. According to London’s style set, a blazer goes with everything, but make sure your jacket is interesting. Instead of the corporate black, navy, or neutral blazer, go for a “Matrix“-inspired leather piece or a statement jacket in bright orange or pale pink. If you’re new to colour pairings, then go the easy route and embrace tonal dressing. Shades of blue easily catch the eyes and calm the mi...

5 Standout Shows From London Fashion Week that Are Defining Style in 2022

Image Source: Chet Lo If there’s one thing that the designers at London Fashion Week can agree on is that we’re all craving punchy, vibrant colour. Oranges, pinks, yellows, and greens took centre stage at our favourite shows. Vivid colour palettes were complemented by sheer fabrics, ruching, ruffles, feathers, ’90s/Y2K strappy details, and ’60s/’70s halter tops. The shows at LFW brought a much-needed pick-me-up to the fashion calendar, but there were five standout collections that will define the city’s spring/summer 2022 aesthetic. While chatting to showgoers and monitoring the social timelines, Rejina Pyo’s new collection was one of the most exciting events at LFW. Pyo’s inspiration was vivid sunset-inspired colours fading in and out, while...

Proof that Bimini Bon Boulash and Their Incredible Style Was the Star of London Fashion Week

This week, Bimini Bon Boulash has proven once again that they deserve the title of the queen of London fashion. The self-proclaimed “bendiest bitch” and “plant-based princess” made a huge splash not only sitting front row at London Fashion Week, but also walking in Richard Quinn’s spring 2022 show. Whilst they didn’t take home the crown during their season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, they won over our hearts with their witty personality, deadpan humour, and avant-garde fashion choices. For them, fashion is an art form, a tool of self-expression, and this has been reiterated with the fabulous outfits that they blessed us with at London Fashion Week. Fashion should always be about taking risks, and this is exactly what Bimini delivered. Each of their l...

Moss was also joined on the catwalk by RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Bimini Bon Boulash and Tayce. Hosted at The Londoner Hotel on Tuesday, 21 Sept., Richard Quinn’s new collection focuses on colourblocking, volume, and technical fabrics. Quinn continues its signature contrast between punchy florals and fetishistic leather looks for spring/summer 2022, while embracing rich cobalt, aubergine, and yellow jewel tones. In a press statement, the brand dedicates the new collection to “modern people with a purp...

Inside British Vogue and Tiffany & Co.’s Party For London Fashion Week

British Vogue and Tiffany & Co.’s annual Fashion and Film party was hosted at The Londoner Hotel on Monday, 20 Sept., to celebrate the physical return of London Fashion Week. Attended by Emma Raducanu, Little Simz, Malala Yousafzai, and Nicola Coughlan, the A-list lineup was just as impressive as the decadent outfits. The best-dressed Brits of the evening were certainly Jourdan Dunn, Little Simz, Rina Sawayama, and Dina Asher-Smith. Dunn wore an iridescent pink co-ordinated set by emerging London-based Korean designer Miss Sohee. Simz has perfected a chic tailored suit for the red carpet and went with a black-and-orange number for the occasion. Sawayama went for a luxe, sparkling baby blue dress from 16Arlington‘s autumn/winter 2021 collection. Asher-Smith looked epic in a ...

35 Wearable Outfits to Try From the Street Style at London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week is back for physical events, showroom appointments, and the best of the city’s street style. At the spring/summer 2022 shows, attendees were spotted in bold prints and colourful outfits to celebrate the return of the catwalks. From the best of LFW street style, we handpicked nine fashion trends that showgoers are loving. It seems Bridgerton and The Queen’s Gambit had more of a sartorial effect on us than we realised. According to London’s style set, corsets and check prints are here to stay well into spring 2022. Attendees are also keen on blazers, tailored trousers, and statement leather pieces. Blazers and chinos lend themselves to a corporate aesthetic that signals a return to the office. And statement leather pieces, like slick trousers, a smart pe...

Ahluwalia and Mulberry’s Capsule Collection Is a Powerful Tribute to Black Hair

Ahluwalia recently collaborated with luxury brand Mulberry, to release a limited-edition capsule collection of 12 tote bags and four silk scarves. Leading the collaboration is the signature Mulberry Portobello tote, which Ahluwalia has reimagined in three different variations. The first is a series of oversized Portobello totes, followed by five regular sized ones, and three mini totes — a size that was developed specifically for the capsule. According to the release, “the collection is influenced by Ahluwalia’s fascination with hair as a means of identity, protest and expression, drawing on the designer’s mixed Nigerian-Indian heritage, both cultures in which hair holds such importance.” In order to further the collaboration, Mulberry has signed up to the Halo Code...

Bethany Williams Shares How Allyship With Marginalised Communities Inspired Her New Collection

Bethany Williams’s new collection, All Our Stories, is inspired by the designer’s work with The Magpie Project, a grassroots organisation that supports women and children under 5 who are at risk of homelessness. All Our Stories highlights the stories of five of these families and photographs them wearing Williams’s richly textured garments made from textile and publishing waste. Some standout pieces from the collection are two corsets in collaboration with Welsh designer Rosie Evans, who made the corset boning out of fruit packaging waste. Six looks from All Our Stories were chosen for Williams’s submission for the 2021 International Woolmark Prize finals, and the designer spoke to POPSUGAR about how allyship with marginalised communities is the driving force of her...
