Lil Durk Hospitalized After Being Struck in the Face by Pyrotechnic at Lollapalooza

A major accident befell Lil Durk during his Lollapalooza set on Saturday, July 30th when an onstage pyrotechnic blew up in his face. In fan-captured video of the performance, the “What Happened to Virgil” rapper can be seen covering his face with his T-shirt after walking through the blast, but ended up finishing his full set after taking a moment to reorient himself. (During the performance, Lil Durk also had what appears to be milk inexplicably thrown at him from the crowd.) Green Day Play a Whole Bunch of Rarities at Surprise Chicago Club Show

Ahead of their headlining performance at Lollapalooza on Sunday, Green Day played an imitate warmup show at Chicago’s Metro on Friday night. For fans who managed to score a ticket to the 1,100-persons capacity venue, they witnessed a career-spanning 28-song set that included a number of live rarities. Green Day seemingly treated the night as akin to a club show from their early days, playing most material from early albums like Kerplunk, Dookie, Insomniac, and Warning. Metallica Jam with Stranger Things Actor Joseph Quinn Backstage at Lollapalooza

Metallica were joined backstage by a special guest ahead of their headlining performance at Lollapalooza on Thursday. Joseph Quinn, who played Eddie Munson on season four of Stranger Things, paid a pre-show visit to the band and even got a chance to join them for a performance of “Master of Puppets.” During a backstage powwow, Metallica’s James Hetfield revealed that he has watched Stranger Things since season one. “[For] my kids and I, it’s been a bonding experience for us,” the band’s frontman explained. Fentanyl Will Be Circulating at Lollapalooza 2022, Chicago DEA Warns

Chicago has reported nearly 1,300 fatal fentanyl overdoses in the last year alone, Fox 32 Chicago reported this week. Now, with the approach of Lollapalooza, the city’s Drug Enforcement Agency is on high alert.  “There’s going to be people walking around with backpacks at Lollapalooza that are going to be selling pills that are going to be laced with fentanyl,” Shane Catone, the division’s Deputy Special Agent in Charge, told Fox 32. “There’s not a doubt in my mind.” According to the report, Catone’s department has seized 80,000 pills containing fentanyl in the city since last October. Lollapalooza is expanding its global footprint to South Asia with the announcement of Lollapalooza India. The two-day event is scheduled to take place January 28th-29th, 2023 in Mumbai. It will be produced by William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, C3 Presents, and BookMyShow. MUMBAI — Lollapalooza is traveling to India, a price sensitive live music market where the appetite for international music of all genres has grown considerably in the streaming era. The multi-genre festival will be staged in Mumbai on Jan. 28-29, 2023, marking its debut in Asia. BookMyShow, India’s largest ticketing platform, is promoting and co-producing Lollapalooza India, along with global producers Perry Farrell, WME and C3 Presents, which is owned by Live Nation. The festival’s Mumbai installment, which will take place at an as-yet unannounced venue “in the center of the city,” will feature around 45 acts playing 20 hours of music across four stages to an audience of 60,000 fans each day.
