Nollywood actor and winner of Big Brother Africa Season 5 reality TV show, Uti Nwachukwu, has apologized to 2020 Big Brother Naija Lockdown housemate, Laycon, for his insulting comments. Nwachukwu had on Friday stated on his Twitter handle that Laycon is not on the same level as female housemate, Erica, yet, it appears Erica has put “jazz” on him. His tweet elicited backlash from other Twitter users, especially fans of Laycon. However, the reality star has apologized as he took to his Twitter handle saying that he got carried away. UK offers free visa replacement for Nigerians

Y-Axis The British High Commission in Nigeria has said it will replace, for free, the 30-day visa of individuals that were supposed to travel to the UK before the lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 global pandemic. It said the free visa replacement, which will be open till December 2020, covers those who will be travelling to the UK for work, study or to join their families. This was contained in a statement issued yesterday by the commission titled, ‘Update on VAC Services From The BHC Nigeria’ posted on its verified Twitter handle, @UKinNigeria. Zimbabwe journalist arrested amid storm over $60m Covid-19 supplies scandal

Zimbabwean police on Monday arrested an investigative journalist who exposed alleged corruption in the procurement of Covid-19 medical supplies, a matter that involves the first family. Hopewell Chin’ono’s lawyers said he was “abducted” by eight state security agents who did not produce a search warrant. One of the lawyers, Beatrice Mtetwa, said she went to Mr Chin’ono’s residence after getting an “SOS that his home was surrounded by state security agents”. Ms Mtetwa described the arrest as an abduction, saying the state agents broke into the house. The Lagos House of Assembly has urged Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu to investigate the recent protest by street sweepers engaged by Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) over non-payment of their salaries. The resolution followed a motion, entitled; “Need to Enhance Waste Management In Lagos State,” moved by Mr Desmond Elliot (Surulere Constituency I) during plenary on Monday. South Africa’s GDP Falls by 2% During First Quarter of 2020
