According to The Sun, Liverpool are ready to meet Watford’s £40 million asking price for Ismaila Sarr as they look to land the versatile Senegalese forward this summer. The Reds clearly need quality attacking options on their bench if they want to mount a strong title challenge when the 2020-21 Premier League campaign starts, and they have the 22-year-old on their radar. Sarr was the architect that orchestrated Liverpool’s first league defeat last term, scoring twice in the Hornets’ shocking 3-0 victory at Vicarage Road back in February. The Senegal international is keen to remain in the English top-flight following Watford relegation, and Jurgen Klopp’s side are ready to offer him that chance. Sarr can play on both wings and as a striker, and it’s one of the reasons why the Premier League...
Newcastle are looking to sign the Arsenal defender Ainsley Maitland-Niles this summer. It remains to be seen whether Newcastle are willing to match Arsenal’s demands for Maitland-Niles. The report adds that Newcastle have been put off by the asking price and it seems that the Gunners will have to lower their demands in order for the move to go through. Dani Ceballos wants to join Arsenal on a permanent basis, claims Mikel Arteta, but any decision on the midfielder’s future now rests in the hands of Real Madrid. Life in England did not always run smooth for the Spain international, with a bright start under Unai Emery making way for a mid-season dip. Ceballos was, however, to play his way back into favour under Arteta and finished with two goals, two assists and an FA Cup winners’ medal to his name. Arsenal believe there is more to come from a man who has struggled to nail down a regular role in Madrid. Jürgen Klopp admitted he was “very, very happy” with his Liverpool side as they beat Stuttgart 3-0 in their first pre-season friendly of the summer. Goals from Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita and Rhian Brewster gave the Reds a win, but it was the weather that was the most difficult opponent at times – a huge downpour turning the pitch into a quagmire. But Klopp was delighted with how his side performed and will now face Red Bull Salzburg in four days time. “I’m very happy, very happy,” he told the club’s official website. “It was a super intense session for us today because the weather, wow, it rained like crazy, the pitch was really difficult – you could see the water was still on the pitch. That makes football games always tricky. “Good organised opponent obviously but we scored nice goals a...

Grujic could be the ideal partner for McGinn and Luiz next season. Dean Smith’s...
