With Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota both arriving on Merseyside. Lets have a look at who Liverpool’s new signings are, what they can bring to Anfield and why they give Liverpool the advantage in the title race. Liverpool successfully beat a whole array of top clubs to the signature of Thiago for a fee around £20 million pounds. Thiago was Klopp’s main target this transfer window, as he looked to strengthen his midfield. Rivals, Manchester United also expressed an interest in the Spaniard but Thiago favoured a move to the Premier League champions. According to reports from The Sun (printed edition; 20/09/20 page 56), the Reds are looking to offload Rhian Brewster this summer. Alan Nixon of The Sun has claimed that Brewster has been told by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp that he needs to move out to get regular games. ‘Still can’t believe’: Jermaine Beckford has his say on Leeds result vs Liverpool

Leeds United suffered an opening day defeat against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday. The Whites, who made a return to the Premier League after a long wait of 16 years, matched Liverpool toe to toe as the game ended in a pulsating 4-3 thriller. Marcelo Bielsa’s side came back from behind three times to equalize, but Leeds were left heart-broken with Mohamed Salah scoring the winning penalty right at the death. Former Leeds striker and club legend Jermaine Beckford took to social networking site Twitter to express his reaction. Liverpool started their 2020-21 Premier League campaign with a thrilling 4-3 win against Leeds United on Saturday at Anfield. Gary Lineker hails one player’s performance in two words after Liverpool win vs Leeds

Liverpool just about saw off Leeds United in their opening Premier League game at Anfield on Saturday. Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick as the Reds earned a 4-3 win against the Premier League newcomers. It has been a real thriller between winners of the top two divisions in English football last season, although some of the defending from both sides were very questionable. Leeds came back three times from behind, but Liverpool finally managed to seal all three points, with Salah scoring the winning penalty. Lineker says it has been a ‘cracking game of football’, and has lauded Liverpool’s mentality to grind out results. They do kno...

After finally leading Leeds back into the top-flight, Bielsa’s side face the daunting task of beginning their Premier League campaign away to champions Liverpool on Saturday. The Argentine has a history of walking out early in the campaign after leaving Marseille just one game into the 2015/16 season and lasted just two days in charge of Lazio a year later. However, he eased Leeds fans’ fears on Thursday by signalling his intention to remain at Elland Road for another season. “I will b...
