Opinion: Liverpool must look to sign Jeremy Doku in January

Rennes forward Jeremy Doku’s performances have attracted the attention of the top teams over the last few months. The player was recently linked with a move to the Premier League and his father confirmed that Liverpool were keen on the Belgian. Liverpool must look to renew their interest in the 18-year-old when the transfer window re-opens in January. The Reds need to improve on the likes of Origi this season. The Belgian striker looked out of sorts against Midtjylland earlier and it is evident that he needs a fresh start away from Anfield. Furthermore, the Reds must look to put more pressure on Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian has been mediocre for months and his miss against Midtjylland was simply unacceptable. Firmino is clearly lacking in goals and it is time for Klopp to use the likes o...

Jordan Henderson: Liverpool don’t need excuses over heavy schedule

Jordan Henderson says Liverpool are not making any excuses ahead of a period filled with matches. The Reds face four huge games in the next 12 days, including an away trip to Manchester City. “We do have a tough period coming up, yeah, but we love playing football. We want to play these games,” Henderson said. “If you look back a few months ago and were sitting in the house during lockdown, couldn’t go out…we’d have played football every single day if we could. There are a lot of things going on in the world and it’s tough for people sitting at home. These things have a huge impact on people. And we enjoy it. “We will use all the lads in the ...

Manchester City flight redirected ahead of West Ham clash

Manchester City’s flight to London had to be rerouted after a technical issue on the plane meant that they could not land at their scheduled destination. The first-team squad flew to the capital on Friday ahead of City’s lunchtime Premier League clash with West Ham United. But their flight had to redirected from City Airport to London Stansted more than 30 miles away. Goal reports that there was a problem with the plane’s anti-skid system which meant that it could not land at an airport with a short runway. The team suffered a slight delay ahead of travelling to the hotel before Saturday’s clash. It is understood that there was no fault on the part of the airport but the flight would not have needed to be rerouted had it been scheduled to land at a major airport. In 2016, a City team fligh...
