Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a number of football leagues have been forced to prolong their 2019/2020 seasons such that they can complete their remaining fixtures. As a result, the start of the 2020/21 campaigns have been postponed and that has contributed to the diversion from the traditional summer transfer window dates. The Premier League, La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga may have different opening dates for the transfer window, but October 5 has been set as the common deadline. The future of Super Eagles attacking winger, Henry Onyekuru, may be hanging in the balance after he was dropped from Monaco’s pre season training tour in Poland. Monaco coach Niko Kovac announced a 26-man squad for the tour on Monday with the name of the Nigerian missing. Although reasons for his exclusion were not disclosed, it appears that his services at the Principality club may not be needed by Kovac who just took over the reins. The player has been on loan with Turkey side Galatasaray after failing to cement regular playing time n his debut campaign in France. The award which is named after the late Cameroonian midfielder Marc-Vivien-Foe is organised by Radio France International and France 24. Osimhen beat his international team-mate Moses Simon and eight other African star to the prestigious award. Algerian Islam Slimani (Monaco) and Morrocan Yunis Abdelhamid (Stade de Reims) came second and third respectively. Osimhen, who was also voted Lille player of the season scored 18 goals and recorded six assists in 38 appearances across all competitions during the campaign. Cameroon international Jean-Charles Castelletto has signed for Nantes as a free agent, the Ligue 1 club announced on Tuesday after he decided to not extend his contract with Brest. “Nantes are very happy to announce the signing of Jean-Charles Castelletto … our new defender has signed until 2023,” Nantes said in a statement. Born in the suburbs of Paris, 25-year-old Castelletto played for France’s youth teams but chose to play senior international football for Cameroon, so far winning one cap.
