Editor’s Note: This article contains spoilers for the season finale of The Mandalorian Season 2. Alongside its creative storylines, attention to detail, and unbelievable fan-service, one of the highlights of The Mandalorian is its music. Fitting for a show set in the universe of the most iconic sci-fi story ever told, Ludwig Göransson took home an Emmy Award for his work last year. While impressive, it was expected; the Star Wars franchise didn’t become the behemoth it is today through mediocrity. What is surprising, though, is Göransson’s decision to use dubstep in his score for one of the most exciting scenes in the season finale of the second season. Without giving too much away, in a scene featuring the activation of the elite-level villains...
The year is 1988: clubs like Chicago’s The Warehouse and Paradise Garage in New York had already seen bustling parties in the heyday of house music’s roots, stemming from the underground Black and gay subcultures upon which they were built. London’s house music scene, however, is making a name for itself, and bringing with it a crossover into mainstream territory. One lesser-known series of parties, Hedonism, quietly played a revolutionary role in that sudden explosion of popularity for house music in London. DJs like Eddie Richards and Colin Faver, who were championing acid house records from Chicago and New York at Hedonism, took on the role of tastemakers at the brand’s parties and became responsible for the sudden surge in London’s house music scene. ...
“I used to think about the way that I dressed/ Like was I pretty enough? And am I good at sex?/ I used to want to say an early goodbye/ But I’m a disco queen, I just keep staying alive/ I try to tell ’em, ‘See ya later!’/ But they don’t wanna let me go/ I blow a kiss to all the haters/ Yeah, I just wanna let ’em know/ This baby don’t cry,” a pink-haired VanderWaal mouths for the camera, wearing an oversized black varsity jacket and nude, corset-inspired top as she claps along to the track. In the clip, the America’s Got Talent champ complements her new hair color with cerise lipstick, a single earring and a large, locket-style necklace as an unnamed pal dances along in the background. While VanderWaal dropped her most recent EP, L...
A creative TikTok user has gone viral lately after engineering a trash can into a speaker dubbed the Blast Bin and sharing footage of tunes being played on it. With this new invention, you’ll be able to subtly let your friends know how you really feel about their SoundCloud mixes when you play their set on a trash can. All jokes aside, the speaker itself is quite impressive and well-engineered, as you can see in the embedded videos from his Instagram page. As previously mentioned, the creator did a great job with his build as the sound is actually pretty solid considering it’s coming out of a literal trash can. It’s funny to see how he packed so much power into the bin that it lifts the lid with each bass punch. Interestingly enough, one commenter question...

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu says the state cannot afford another total lockdown amid the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sanwo-Olu, who went into isolation last Saturday after testing positive for COVID-19, advised residents to adhere to health protocol and non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) to help limit the ...

Oh, the weather outside in New York is frightful, but Dua Lipa‘s snow outfit is so delightful. The Future Nostalgia singer camouflaged herself in a head-to-toe ’60s-yet-futuristic floral weatherproof outfit for a snowy photo shoot. Her matching puffer coat, tights and pumps came straight from the Richard Quinn x Moncler Genius collection. Celine Dion rocked the same exact print back in March while she was taking a stroll in a much sunnier NYC. “Avinnnn snow much fun,” Lipa captioned the wintery photo series on her socials Wednesday. She announced that she’ll be on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night (Dec. 17) “for a Christmas treaaaat,” according to her caption of another trio of style shots f...
The 37-year-old singer announced that he and Natalie, who have been married since 2002, were expecting their seventh baby in a sweet Instagram post back in September. “The best kind of unexpected. Number seven coming this December. #2020,” he wrote. He told Today’s Parent in 2017 about the lessons he’s learned of being part of a big family. “I think what’s really cool about bigger families is that everybody develops this innate ability to figure out how to compromise, work with others and realize that the entire world doesn’t revolve around you,” he said at the time. “It also encourages you to be an individual because you can clearly see your differences from a brother or sister. I see that with my kids: They’re very different, ...
For years, Rocket League has been one of the most EDM-friendly games out there. With the second season of their recently relaunched Rocket Pass program, they went full-throttle and based the four-month event on all things dance music. The electronic extravaganza comes just days after the release of Kaskade‘s Monstercat debut, “Flip Reset,” which serves as the theme song for the new season of Rocket League. On YouTube, a trailer for the new pass was shared. For those unfamiliar with the game, Rocket Pass is a program players can sign up for that gives them access to over 70 levels of unlockable content. While none of the content offers a competitive advantage to those who signed up, it provides cosmetic items otherwise unobtainable through regular gameplay. Some of t...
After more than a year of anticipation, this week’s release of Cyberpunk 2077 from video game developer CD Projekt has been one of the hottest topics in the dance music world. Grimes has been at the center of the hype since leaking information back in February about the player experience and her role as the voice actor for character Lizzy Wizzy. To celebrate the game’s long-awaited launch on December 9th, Grimes released a 17-track companion mixtape exclusively through Apple Music under the guise of her in-game character. Featuring several remixes of tracks off her February album Miss Anthropocene, selects from i_o‘s celebrated discography, and reworks of classic Rihanna and Ariana Grande anthems, the mix’s 63 minutes travers...
