Kaduna: Police arrest one after shoot out with bandits

Operatives of the Kaduna Police Command have arrested a suspected bandit around Kudaru forest in Saminaka, Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State and intercepted a Volkswagen vehicle and AK47 rifle. The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Muhammed Jalige, in a statement he released on behalf of the Police Commissioner, Umar Muri, said the suspect identified as Bello Abubakar was arrested during a shoot out. He, however, said that Abubakar’s other gang members were at large, but the suspect had already volunteered useful information that may lead to their arrest. Kaduna: Police arrest three for criminal conspiracy, incitement, abduction

The Police Command in Kaduna State said on Friday that it had arrested three suspects for criminal conspiracy, inciting disturbances and abduction in the state. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, confirmed this in a statement in Kaduna. Jalige said that on March 22, at about 08000hrs, the command received a complaint through DPO Zonkwa from a citizen of Fadere village, Lere Local Government Area of the state. He said that the complainant had reported that on March 21, three others and he, all of the same address, went to Gora-Gan, Zangon Kataf LGA, to retrieve their cows that were in military custody. Kaduna denies report on abduction along Abuja-Kaduna Highway

The Kaduna State government has denied media reports on the abduction of travelers along the Kaduna-Abuja highway on Thursday. The government said there was no such incident on that day as reported by some news platforms. The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, alongside the Police Commissioner, Umar Musa Muri and Operation Thunder Strike Sector Commander, Colonel Ibrahim Gambari, led journalists to the location where the said abduction was said to have taken place to interact with residents of the area. Nigeria: 10 die of coronavirus in Kano, Ogun, three other states

No fewer than seven patients died of coronavirus-related complications in Kano and Ogun states on Friday. Three other patients also died of COVID-19 in Bauchi, Kaduna and Sokoto. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control made this known in its 70th Situation Report on COVID-19 published on Saturday. According to the report, 10 COVID-19 fatalities were recorded in the country as of 11.30 pm on Friday. The 10 new COVID-19 fatalities bring the total deaths recorded in the country to 117. Ogun PDP gets new executive committee

The oaths of office which was done in batches of 15 persons were administered by a lawyer and notary public, Victor Owokoya and Oluwatoyin Omomehin, respectively.
