Returning to the Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater on June 18th, New York’s iconic 103.5 KTU has unveiled an unmissable lineup for the 2022 iteration of their ultrasummer tradition—KTUphoria. Pitbull, Ava Max, Regard, Laidback Luke, LODATO and more are slated to take over the Wantagh-based event on June 18th, which will include a special 25th Anniversary Freestyle set. Lodato. In February 2021, Laidback Luke unveiled his Dark Chanell alias with the release of the project’s pulsing debut EP, No. 1. The iconic Dutch DJ, whose self-professed first love is techno, has now revived his ominous nom de plume with his sophomore record, the two-track New York Five-O EP. Out now on Luke’s Mixmash banner, the menacing EP offers the dark underground warehouse sounds that longtime techno fans crave. Fusing elements of disco with vintage techno, “Foxy Town” applies sinister bass guitar licks and a thumping bassline. Laidback Luke Releases New Online Course to Teach DJs How to Create Mashups and Bootlegs

Having accrued an encyclopedic knowledge of dance music over the years, Laidback Luke has harnessed his arsenal of production techniques to develop a new DJ training course. He teamed up with online DJ school Digital DJ Tips to release the course, which aims to teach aspiring DJs and producers how to make bootlegs, mashups, and re-edits of songs to drop in their live sets.  The goal of “Laidback Luke’s Bootlegs, Mashups, & Re-edits” class is to show beginners how to make edits of songs in order to be more original and obtain their own DJing style. “Bootlegs, mashups and re-edits have always been a part of what DJs do, and what I have done, and I have taught many DJs and producers some of the skills in this course privately over the past 20 years,”...
