Steve Martin and Martin Short Star in SNL’s Father of the Bride 8 Parody: Watch

As co-hosts of this week’s episode of Saturday Night Live, Steve Martin and Martin Short starred in a parody reboot of their classic film Father of the Bride.  Martin reprised his role as George Banks, this time faced with the daunting proposition of paying for his daughter Annie’s eighth wedding. Fortunately, Short’s Franck Eggelhoffer was more than willing to provide his wedding planning services. The sketch also featured a surprise cameo from another original cast member: Kieran Culkin returned as Annie’s younger brother Matty Banks. Plus, Martin and Short’s Only Murders in the Building co-star Selena Gomez was booked as the wedding singer. Watch the entire sketch below. The Succession Season 3 Finale Confirmed Why the HBO Series Is One of TV’s Most Fascinating Dramas

[Editor’s note: The following contains spoilers through the Season 3 finale of Succession, “All the Bells Say.”] One of the elements which stood out the most about Season 3 of Succession was location: specifically, a shift to the sun-dappled splendor that is rural Tuscany, site of both Lady Caroline Collingwood’s (Harriet Walter) wedding and her betrayal of her children. While the HBO series has always been aesthetically lush, with an emphasis on the elegant homes and offices in which the Roys seem born to dwell in, having some of the series’ most ugly behavior to date take place in such a beautiful place seems like the ultimate distillation of the show as a whole. The finale once again featured the Roy children coming after control of the company, this time in an effort to prevent tech mo...

Kieran Culkin Just Wants to Cancel His Cable in Hilarious SNL Sketch: Watch

“Your call is important to us, and will be answered in the order that we feel like.” The headache of cancelling with the cable company is universal, and Saturday Night Live decided to put host Kieran Culkin through the nightmare in a hilarious sketch during last night’s episode. The clip started with the Succession star merely wanting to cancel his cable package, as he’d broken up with his girlfriend and was moving out. However, a group of hapless Spectrum employees were determined to make the process as difficult as possible — whether that meant Aidy Bryant’s Tanya asking for the “42-digit customer pin number that came on [his] first bill” or Mikey Day’s customer service rep in training transferring him to a Domino’s pizza guy. Along the way, Culkin is constantly offered a land-line upgra...

Kieran Culkin Plays Ska-Loving Skateboarding Jockey in Bonkers SNL Sketch: Watch

Kieran Culkin won the Kentucky Derby as a skateboarder named Toby Bird on last night’s Saturday Night Live. And it was all set to a ska song, because why not? “So there I was/ Doing skate tricks at the park/ Then I jumped with too much force/ And I landed on a horse,” the Succession star sings as an explainer, before adding, “If I lean right or left/ He’d follow my every move/ And if I wanted him to go faster/ I’d just give him a bag of chips.” As the race progresses, Culkin’s teen ska sensation plasters the horse’s backside with skate stickers, and even manages to nail an ollie, a backside 180, and a kickflip…but only if he asks the horse nicely. HBO’s Succession Turns Its Family Feud Into All-Out War in Season 3: Review

The Pitch: When last we left the backstabbing, mega-wealthy Roy family, prodigal son Kendall (Jeremy Strong) finally plunged the dagger in the back of his imperious father, Logan (Brian Cox), by holding a presser in which — rather than acting as the “blood sacrifice” Logan wants to throw to the wolves — he publicly laid bare incriminating accusations of malfeasance within Waystar Royco’s Cruises division. It’s a ballsy act, one born of two seasons’ worth of tension between them, the latest move in their perpetual chess game. But the question remains: What now? Well, fresh off his impulsive gamble, Kendall rallies the troops: Initially, he’s just got Greg the Egg (Nicholas Braun) on his side, having snuck him the Cruises documents he needs to support the accusations. But what of Shiv (...

Father of the Bride Cast Reunites for Virtual Netflix “Sequel”: Watch

The cast of Father of the Bride reunited for the first time in 25 years (!) on Friday. The all-star group of actors got back together for Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish), a “special sequel” that caught up with the Banks family over a Zoom call for a wedding-related announcement. Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Kieran Culkin, Martin Short, and George Newbern all looked delighted to see one another again for the 25-minute performance. There to host for the modern family gathering was Reese Witherspoon. And because the miniature sequel is supposed to take places years down the road, the ensemble was expanded to include several new faces, with Alexandra Shipp, Ben Platt, Florence Pugh, and Robert DeNiro all joining the fold. We won’t spoil anything, but make sure t...
