Kayzo Fosters the Next Evolution of Electronic-Rock Music With Third Album, “New Breed”

The release of NEW BREED marks the decisive beginning of a new chapter for Kayzo, one of the biggest electronic dance music producer success stories of the 2010s. With his latest album, Kayzo explores the intersection of rock and electronic music more thoroughly—more thoughtfully—than ever before.  Longtime fans will fondly remember records such as his remix of “Last Resort” alongside Papa Roach as breakthrough moments in his meteoric career. But while such tracks combining dubstep production with rock sonics were fresh at the time, a new spark was needed to illuminate this creative pathway ahead. And with NEW BREED, Kayzo handily delivers. If there’s one central accomplishment Kayzo can claim on the album, it’s blending the many diverse roc...

All-Female Mosh Pit Ensues After Kayzo Calls Out “Aggressive” Man In Crowd

In 2022, the safety of women at electronic dance music shows has never been more urgent. The verity of that fact has not been lost on Kayzo. Known for his chaotic blend of dubstep and metal music, the barnstorming DJ has seen his fair share of mosh pits. After an intense pit unfolded at a recent show, he abruptly cut the music during his performance to call out a man who appeared to be shoving women. According to numerous accounts shared on Twitter, Kayzo then called for an all-female mosh pit. Moshing is embedded in U.S. dance music culture, but it sometimes goes too far. And the violent nature of mosh pits forces many women to actively circumnavigate them, often to the point where they’re unable to enjoy the show. Recommended Articles Kayzo went on to publicly condemn the unnamed m...

Kayzo Reworks ILLENIUM and iann dior’s “First Time” Into Rock-Infused Anthem

Kayzo has been on a tear in 2021. The Houston-born producer recently released his collaboration with Sullivan King and Papa Roach, “DOMINATION,” as well as “Never Let You Down” with TELLE and “Lifeline” with Black Tiger Sex Machine. Today, he returns with a remix of ILLENIUM and iann dior‘s “First Time.” Kayzo’s rework of “First Time” reimagines the love ballad by embracing his signature rock-electronic crossover sound. Forgoing the piano of the original, Kayzo has opted for a subtle guitar in the intro. As the track builds to the drop, listeners are hit with a more intense guitar riff all accompanied by dior’s emotive vocals. The second drop adds a layer of heavy, distorted synths, drastically increasing th...

Kayzo, Sullivan King, and Papa Roach Drop Genre-Crossing Heavyweight Single, “DOMINATION”

Last week, Kayzo, Sullivan King, and Papa Roach announced that they had a dream collaboration on the way. Today, that collab has arrived in the form of “DOMINATE,” out via New Noize Records.  “DOMINATION” is a bone-shattering heater designed to break necks. The track is the perfect combination of rock and dubstep, allowing both genres to shine at varying moments. The intro sets a quick, punishing pace for the rest of the song, as Papa Roach exclaims “let’s get fuckin’ rowdy” before any other musical aspect has a chance to make its entrance. Following his the part-starting quip, heavy guitar riffs guide listeners into a relentless barrage of pounding percussion and winding synths. “DOMINATION” is the second collaboration betwe...

Kayzo, Sullivan King and Papa Roach are Dropping a New Song Next Week

In what has the looks of one of the biggest electronic-rock crossovers of the year, Papa Roach, Kayzo, and Sullivan King have teamed up for a dream collaboration. King hasn’t collaborated with Papa Roach until now, but the fabled rock band famously enlisted Kayzo to breathe new life into their iconic nu metal jam “Last Resort” in 2018. As far as the two producers go, they haven’t joined forces on an original track since 2015’s blistering “Till We Die.” King revealed a collaboration between the three on Twitter back in January, lighting a fuse of anticipation that led to today’s official announcement of “Domination,” which will drop on April 16th. The artists have not yet shared an official preview. While there ...
