Aluna’s Inaugural Noir Fever New Orleans to Host Kaytranada, Channel Tres, Jayda G, More

New Orleans, get ready. Aluna is about to shut it down. The dance music luminary’s latest enterprise, Noir Fever New Orleans, is slated to take the city by storm May 27-30, 2022 via a partnership with Pollen Presents. Featuring an all-Black lineup of musical artists, it endeavors to celebrate the Black and queer roots of dance music as well the legacies of Black talents that have come out of New Orleans. Featured artists include Kaytranada, Jayda G, Channel Tres and TSHA, as well as house and techno godfathers Derrick Carter and Kevin Saunderson. GRiZ, Glass Animals, Kaytranada, More Set to Perform at Lightning in a Bottle 2022

The weather in the states is cooling down, but Lightning in a Bottle just gave us something hot to look forward to.  After being forced to postpone both their 2020 and 2021 festivals, Lightning in a Bottle announced their grand return would be in 2022. The event’s organizers, Do LaB, have now shared the slate of artists scheduled to take the stage at next year’s hotly anticipated fest. The full lineup was showcased across their social media, revealing GRiZ, Kaytranada, and Glass Animals as the headliners. Apple Music‘s latest initiative provides profound insight into how the deaf develop their musical preferences. In developing Apple Music’s “A Playlist Curated by Deaf People,” the streaming giant engaged deaf curators to discover their favorite songs.  Electronic music producers including Mura Masa, Kaytranada, and The Chainsmokers all made the cut in this wide-ranging playlist. IKEA’s First-Ever Music Festival to Feature TOKiMONSTA, Kaytranada, More

IKEA stans, hold on to your meatballs.  The furniture giant will host its first IKEA Festival on September 16th, bringing together a variety of musicians, designers, chefs and speakers for an immersive 24-hour event. Hosted for free on the IKEA website, it will broadcast from more than 100 homes around the world as participating talent transform their living spaces into virtual stages, according to a press release.  Among the musical performers for the inaugural event are Kaytranada, TOKiMONSTA, MØ and Masego, with icons like designer Virgil Abloh, TikTok influencer Pasta Queen and astronaut Christer Fuglesang rounding out the lineup. Kaytranada Announces 17-Date Fall 2021 Tour, Including 7 Festivals

Kaytranada is coming soon to a city near you. With 17 dates scheduled throughout the fall, Kaytranada will kick off his tour at Day In Day Out Festival in Seattle before making his way across North America. Three of its stops will be in the artist’s native Canada, including its December 30th conclusion at History Toronto, a new venue operated in a partnership of Drake and Live Nation. Additional destinations include CRSSD Festival in San Diego, III Points in Miami, and the House of Blues in Boston.  The upcoming tour will be Kaytranda’s first since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic last March, which also resulted in the cancellation of his highly anticipated “BUBBA” tour. ABOUT THE FESTIVAL HARDFEST 2021 happened this weekend for the first time in two years, with an expanded venue size and a stacked lineup of electronic, rap and pop acts. The most important thing to note was that all sets had exceptional sound quality and the acts delivered their performances to bustling crowds filled with totems, dancing and spray-bottles. The HARD fairgrounds are completely made up of black-top and the grounds were well-organized with water stations, AstroTurf rest areas, colorful lights, food trucks, and even several “vaccination stations.” The infamous San Bernardino heat became manageable after 5 PM and even comfortable after sundown. As a burgeoning spot for house and techno, San Diego has managed to cultivate a thriving dance music scene over the years, thanks in large part to FNGRS CRSSD. The promoter is responsible for curating multiple shows throughout the year, including their boutique festival, the biannual CRSSD. After a yearlong hiatus due to the worldwide pandemic, the festival has announced its return to Waterfront Park on September 25th and 26th. KAYTRANADA Nabs 2021 Juno Award for Dance Recording of the Year

The 2021 Juno Awards saw The Weeknd dominate, as the international pop superstar added even more accolades to his trophy case after winning in the categories of Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, and Album of the Year. In the Dance Recording of the Year category, renowned producer KAYTRANADA took home the award for his Bubba LP. The seminal 17-track album features major contemporary artists such as Pharrell Williams, GoldLink, Estelle, and Iman Omari, among others. Outside Lands Reveals Single-Day Lineups

Just last month it was revealed that Outside Lands would be pushing their beloved Summer event to the Fall. While the update came as no surprise, fans were excited to see a new batch of artists added to the list, and the fact that the date changed to Halloween weekend meant Outside Lands would provide the perfect chance to don some epic costumes.  The team behind the festival is now back with their next announcement, the single-day lineups.  The party starts on Friday, October 29th.
