Nigeria governors meet Wednesday on quick way out of coronavirus effects
The Nigeria Governors’ Forum says it will meet on Wednesday to review the situation of COVID-19 pandemic in various states, and as well find paths for a quick way out of the effects of the pandemic. The forum made this known in a statement by Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, NGF Head, Media and Public Affairs, in Abuja on Tuesday. Bello-Barkindo said issues to be discussed at the 8th teleconference meeting, according to the invitation sent from the NGF Director-General, Mr Asishana Bayo Okauru, include update from the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19. Bandits attack Katsina villages, kill one
No fewer than 200 bandits on Thursday night reportedly attacked Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing a man identified as Alaramma Kano, 57, while injuring three other persons who were rushed to the hospital. Eyewitnesses said the bandits carried out attacks on two villages in the area at about 11.30 pm and rustled some cows. Katsina State Police Command Spokesperson, Gambo Isah, confirmed the development but said security operatives were on top of the situation. President Buhari prays for speedy recovery of Emir of Daura
President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday sent his goodwill and prayers to the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar after he was admitted to the Federal Medical Centre, Katsina State.
