Katie Bejsiuk, the former frontperson of indie-pop band Free Cake for Every Creature announced the release of her album The Woman on the Moon with the lead single “Onion Grass.” Bejsiuk said in a statement that the track is “inspired by the rupture of an adolescent friendship, which occurred as we moved from the imaginative space of childhood to the restrictive and gendered structures of young adulthood.” The new record is out on June 24 via Double Double Whammy. “Onion Grass” is the first time Bejsiuk has released music since Free Cake for Every Creature disbanded in 2019.
