Kanye West may want to be president, but he has a long way to go if it’s actually going to happen (for a number of reasons). In the first piece of polling data to take into account the rapper/mogul’s candidacy, West is polling at a not-so-good 2%. Redfield & Wilton Strategies polled 2,000 registered voters in the U.S. and let’s just say that they’re not as impressed with West’s platform as he seems to be. Joe Biden leads the pack with 48%, with Donald Trump in second with 40%. When West is included in the poll, Trump’s number dips to 39% while Biden’s remains the same. On July 4, West issued his own declaration when he announced a presidential run. He was initially supported by Elon Musk, who has since walked back his endorsement following West’s interview with ...
Late on Sunday, presidential candidate (for now) Kanye West dropped a new song that paid tribute to his late mother Donda. July 12 would have been her 71st birthday. Simply titled “Donda,” the first 90 seconds of the song features the late-professor rapping along to KRS-One’s “Sound Of Da Police” before her son takes it from there. Following his decision to run for president that may or may not happen, West spoke to Forbes about his candidacy where he revealed that he was an anti-vaxxer, would not support President Donald Trump’s reelection bid in 2020 and never voted before. It raised the suspicions of many, including new pal Elon Musk. Prior to that, on the music front, West released a new song with Travis Scott titled “Wash Us in the Blood.” The song is slated to appear on Wes...
American rapper and business mogul Kanye West has declared his intentions to run for the office of the President of the United States of America. Kanye West who was in April declared a billionaire by Forbes will be contesting to become America’s next president in 2020. He declared his ambition via his verified Twitter account some hours ago. This news comes with little surprise as Kanye West has always mentioned he would run for presidency in the future. However, in the elections coming up in November, Kanye West is up against incumbent Donald Trump and Joe Biden the Democratic Party candidate. Many fans have reacted to his ambition in different ways. He has also gained the full support of billionaire Elon Musk. We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our...
Way back in 2015 at the VMAs, Kanye West vowed to run for president in 2020. Everyone laughed it off at the time as a ruse and it seemed ridiculous at the time, but apparently he wasn’t kidding! On the 4th of July, West declared that he’s running for president. Don’t believe us? See it for yourself. We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States 🇺🇸! #2020VISION — ye (@kanyewest) July 5, 2020 If that’s not enough to process on a holiday, get this: West says that Elon Musk has endorsed his candidacy. So that’s what that meeting earlier in the week was about… You have my full support! — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 5, 2020 Guess the noted Trump supporter isn’t voting for the...
Ty Dolla $ign is kicking off his third studio album with a bang, enlisting the help of Skrillex, Kanye West, and FKA Twigs for “Ego Death.” When artists of this caliber get together on a track, you know a behemoth of a single is upon us, and all the chefs in the kitchen came together to collaborate on the ultimate club track. The single immediately smack us in the face with the 90s house sample of Ultra Nate‘s “Free,” leading into the infectious bass progression that will guide us through the rest of the track. It channels the energy West laid down in his 2016 song “Fade,” as Dolla $ign’s signature, smooth vocals deliver the self-esteem bruised croons. When West takes the mic, he throws down timely lines like, “One in four get loc...
Yeezy season is once again approaching, and with that comes Mr. West monopolizing our timelines. Just days after announcing his musical return with the Yeezus-channeling Travis Scott duet “Wash Us in the Blood” and his upcoming record God’s Country, Kanye West has taken Twitter by storm today with a billionaire-laced photo of him standing side-by-side with Elon Musk. The caption appropriately reads “When you go to your boys house and you’re both wearing orange” and caps off with a fitting emoji of an orange. The shot of the laced-up “Spaceship” rapper and the also-laced-up SpaceX founder has since earned well-over 400,000 likes, and fans are pointing out that, if you squint hard enough, you can see Grimes’ reflection in the background as she takes the photo. And as ever, no Kanye post...
Ty Dolla $ign, Skrillex, FKA Twigs and Kanye West walk into a bar… Wait, that’s just a new single. In a collaboration that could best be described as the second coming of West’s single “Fade,” Ty came through today with his latest collaboration-heavy track “Ego Death.” Featuring samples that only West or Skrillex can throw together, the (probably) bouncy instrumental to “Fade,” a West verse referencing Watch the Throne and Twigs’ magic touch, Ty’s latest single is a flex of his connections just as much as it’s a flex of his raspy vocals. The track also features serpentwithfeet, who worked with Ty on last year’s “Receipts.” “‘Ego Death’ is a very special record,” Ty said in a statement. “It’s always an honor working with my brother ‘Ye. He’s a genius and we make incredible records...
Source: The Washington Post / Getty It just might be Yeezy week. Kanye West just dropped a new video for “Wash Us In The Blood” featuring his buddy Travis Scott. The song was mixed by Dr. Dre and is from West’s forthcoming new album, reportedly titled God’s Country, for now. The clip includes footage from protests, memes, video games and other Internet flotsam and jetsam. Imagine making it into a Yeezy video because you got knocked the f*ck out on camera, though? The third verse from Yeezy will get the people talking. “They wanna edit the interviews, they wanna take it to interludes, cut a whole sentence to interlude, you know that it’s fake if it’s in the news,” spits West, who still very much Team Trump. Late last week, West announced he has linked up with Gap for a 10-year partnership t...
Update [1:40PM PDT]: Complex confirmed Kanye West’s involvement in the song in a tweet posted after the publishing of this article today, June 30th, 2020. Ty Dolla Sign took to social media yesterday to share a cryptic teaser for a forthcoming project with Skrillex, FKA Twigs, and a mystery artist. Dolla Sign posted a teaser on Instagram in the form of an animated video along with the caption “7/1,” leading fans to believe that he is releasing a powerhouse collaboration tomorrow. Animated versions of Dolla Sign and Twigs float in the air before two additional cartoons materialize—a human, who clearly resembles Skrillex, and a snake, who is purportedly experimental pop artist serpentwithfeet. Noticeably absent, however, is a blurred out fifth cartoon next to Dolla Sign. Ru...
Source: Will / Getty With his partnership with the Gap officially underway, Kanye West continues to branch out his fashion vision for the masses and live out the dream he’s had since he was an employee at the clothing retail company. In a recent interview with Cody Enterprise, Yeezus touched on his latest “business enterprise” venture between his Yeezy brand and the decades old clothing brand and revealed his plans to have local production of his line by the end of 2020. While the Gap may seem like an old choice to new school Hip-Hoppers whom seem to gravitate towards more hypebeast brands such as Supreme, Off-White and whatnot, us older heads remember the time when Gap clothing was a hot item in these streets, and Kanye does as well. “I loved folding clothes at the Gap too, that was an as...
Source: KanyeWest.com / Kanye West Kanye West was in his bag this weekend. The “Spaceship” rapper turned a Chicago Gap store into a mural, covering it with a shroud than includes an open letter about his collab with the retailer. On Friday morning (June 26), West announced that his Yeezy clothing line was partnering with the Gap, and he started dropping content from then on. From finally dropping the unreleased “Spaceship” video, where he portrays a Gap employee (which he actually was back in the day), to his cartoon with Kid Cudi to a documentary about his Yeezy Supply website’s redesign, West’s social media feed was busy. But his play at the Gap in Chicago along the Magnificent Mile and located at 555 Michigan Avenue could be the biggest move, at least physically, as he shrouded the enti...
