The signed budget allocates N184.53bn to capital expenditure and N94.05bn to recurrent, a ratio of 66:37%. With N89.67bn, the Social Subsector has 49% of the capital budget, the largest sectoral allocation. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Friday paraded six suspects who smuggled 45,000 litres of adulterated diesel contained in 750 giant polythene bags, which were carefully concealed among sacks of sawdust to deceive security operatives. The Katsina State police command has confirmed the killing of an Inspector of Police and three residents of Zandam village, in Jibia Local Government Area, by suspected bandits. The Executive Secretary (ES), Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Abubakar Hassan, has described the attitude of some people as causes of most of the fire disasters in the State. The ES who stated this while fielding questions from journalists at a 2-day training of field officers on hazard profiling and hazard mapping drawn from the 23 local government areas in Kaduna noted that the fire disasters between 2020 and January to May 2021 had cost the State hundreds of millions of naira which would have been spent on other developmental needs of the people.
