RayRay and JVNA Team Up for Empowering Melodic Bass Track, “Butterfly”

Self-empowerment is the name on the game on RayRay‘s new single, “Butterfly,” a melodic bass ballad written with fellow Taiwanese producer JVNA. Featuring a slow-burning bassline and sultry, hypnotic vocals, the collab is an ode to their experiences in the music industry as women, as well as the lessons they’ve taught themselves along the way.  Creepy and crawling, otherworldly and unyielding, “Butterfly” builds like lightning on the horizon with minimalistic percussion and sensuous lyricism: “Watch me as I go and take a leap / Try to make the dreams my reality.” Meanwhile, deep bass grows beneath the surface, waiting to overtake you with a thunderous drop. The track, RayRay says, is one of her favorite songs from her forthcomi...

JVNA and LICK Team Up for Dazzling Bass Anthem, “Phenomenon”

Making their way to Seven Lions’ Ophelia imprint for the first time, JVNA and LICK have teamed up for a dazzling bass anthem, “Phenomenon.” “Phenomenon” expertly combines JVNA and LICK’s distinct sound while simultaneously matching the vision of Ophelia. The tune is by no means a soaring melodic bass anthem but it doesn’t need to be. It embraces a calmer tone without losing any impact. The airy intro, in accompaniment to JNVA’s breathy vocals, serves as a masterful intro that leads into a wobbly yet tame drop.  Listen to “Phenomenon” below. Fittingly, the record was self-sung, written and produced. Out November 19th via Violet Arrow, Hope In Chaos is a melodic bass masterpiece, tapping into the 22-year-old at her deepest and darkest for an aural journey of epic emotional proportions. 12 tracks carry us through a transformative coming-of-age opus with impressive momentum, narrated by lyrical brilliance à la Taylor Swift and Halsey.  Opening single “Chaos (Prelude),” for example, thunders along with an orchestra of drums and strings. “Total spiral in my mind…searching for an unknown sign,” JVNA rif...

JVNA Announces Completion of Anticipated Debut Album

Since breaking into the electronic scene in 2016, JVNA has stunned with her hard-hitting arrangements of melodic bass and original vocals. Still, she has left fans wanting for more, releasing only a handful of singles over the last five years. Luckily, the time has finally come for a longer body of work from JVNA. On July 2nd, she announced that her debut album is finally complete and on the way. “It’s daring work that mixes pop, rock and melodic bass with honest and emotional lyrics,” reads her Spotify bio. “Nothing is off limits.”  With JVNA’s sound ranging from the delicate future bass of “Temple of Time” to the sweeping melodic dubstep of “Reign (Will I Still Be The Same)” with Luca Lush, we anticipate her ...
