Barcelona’s domestic woes continue with Alaves 1-1 draw

Antoine Griezmann helped to salvage a point for Barcelona as their struggles in La Liga continued with another disappointing result; a 1-1 away draw against 10-man Deportivo Alaves on Saturday. The visitors, who had lost their prior two league matches, were behind in the first half after a goalkeeping blunder by Neto allowed Luis Rioja to open the scoring. Barca actually started the match brightly. Their gifted youngster Ansu Fati raced clear of the Alaves defence early on but could only strike his effort wide. Super Eagles star helps Villarreal extend unbeaten run vs Cadiz

Samuel Chukwueze was in action as Villarreal played out a 0-0 draw against Cadiz in Sunday’s La Liga game. The game started with both sides aiming to outwit each other but despite their efforts, they failed to find the back of the net. The best chance of the game fell to Alvaro Negredo in the seventh minute of the encounter and he hit the back of the net, but the strike was ruled out for offside by the Video Assistant Referee (VA...

Joselu was one of the poor signings made by former manager Rafael Benitez during his time at St James’ Park. The 30-year-old managed just seven goals in 52 league and cup appearances for Newcastle. The Spaniard has been enjoying his life in Spain where he has regained his scoring touch. He has netted nine goals in 26 La Liga appearances. “Newcastle is a very big club with an incredible fans. The stadium is spectacular and if this new project goes well it will be a blast,” Joselu said in an interview with AS.
