Eddie Murphy isn’t happy when Jonah Hill asks for permission to marry his daughter (Lauren London) in the trailer for Kenya Barris’ feature directorial debut You People, and he proceeds to test his potential son-in-law by setting him up to fail. After complaining about Hill’s Ezra Cohen being his wife’s (Nia Long) “white grandaddy coming back to haunt me” during their first sitdown, Murphy decides to find out if his daughter’s partner can take some hard fouls on the basketball court and survive being roasted at the barbershop. “What’s up with white cuz?” Murphy gets asked at the barbershop, leading Ezra to realize he might be in over his head. Meanwhile, Ezra’s parents (Julia Louis-Dreyfus and David Duchovny) can’t help blurting out microaggressions. When they meet London’s ...

Jonah Hill Gets Grilled by Eddie Murphy in Trailer for Netflix’s You People: Watch

Asking a father for permission to marry his daughter is hard enough, but as Jonah Hill finds out in the teaser trailer for Kenya Barris’ feature directorial debut You People, Eddie Murphy is a particularly tough nut to crack. In the preview of the Netflix comedy, Hill’s Ezra Cohen sits down with his partner Amira Mohammed’s (Lauren London) parents, played by Murphy and Nia Long, at the Los Angeles landmark Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles. Self-conscious about growing up in a different faith and cultural background, Hill’s character can’t stop digging a hole for himself during the conversation. To be fair, he’s put on the defensive from the beginning. “Do you hang out in the hood all the time or do you just come here for our food and women?” Murphy asks. Later on, Hill says “mixed race people ...

Meryl Streep Thought Her Don’t Look Up Co-Stars Were Literally Calling Her a Goat

Everyone seems to know Meryl Streep is the GOAT — except for the three-time Oscar winner herself. The actor’s Don’t Look Up co-stars Jennifer Lawrence and Jonah Hill spent much of the movie’s press cycle referring to her lovingly as the Greatest of All Time, but Streep wasn’t aware of the acronym. As a result, she thought they were literally calling her a goat. “The whole week I’m saying, ‘You know, working with Meryl’s the best, she’s the GOAT, she’s the GOAT,’” Hill told Jimmy Fallon in a recent appearance on The Tonight Show. “And then today, we’re doing a press conference, and she’s like, ‘You know, Jonah is so comfortable with me, he’s been calling me a goat all week!’” Lawrence also discussed the mix-up in a talk show appearance of her own. While guesting on The Late...

The world is about to end but Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence can’t get anyone to care in the new teaser trailer for Don’t Look Up. Directed by Adam McKay, the dark comedy crashes into theaters and on Netflix December 24th. DiCaprio and Lawrence play astronomers who have learned that a comet is on course to destroy the Earth. The new trailer opens with DiCaprio’s Dr. Randall Mindy having a panic attack in the bathroom ahead of a meeting with Dr. Kate Dibiasky (Lawrence), President Janie Orlean (Meryl Streep), and her Chief of Staff — and son — Jason Orlean (Jonah Hill.) “Your breathing is stressing me out,” Hill chides DiCaprio. “This will affect the entire planet!” he replies, to which Hill says, “I know, but it’s, like, so stressful.” Advertisement Related Video Th...
