John Lithgow Joins Increasingly Ludicrous Cast for Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon

Apple may have given Martin Scorsese too much money. Via Deadline, John Lithgow is the latest actor to join Scorsese’s absolutely bonkers cast for the upcoming film Killers of the Flower Moon. He’ll be playing Prosecutor Leaward, and as Variety reports that the part is in fact a prosecutor, that means a two-time Oscar nominee has been hired for a role that doesn’t even have a first name. Killers of the Flower Moon is based on non-fiction book of the same name by David Grann. It explores the murders of native Osage peoples in Oklahoma in the 1920s after oil deposits were discovered on their land, in a saga that came to be called the Reign of Terror. Dexter Revival Premiered First Trailer at Comic-Con 2021: Watch

Dexter returns! The beloved, revived crime drama unleashed its first trailer on audiences during the final day of San Diego Comic-Con 2021. Billed as Dexter: New Blood and set 10 years after the events of the original series, the show’s ninth season kicks off with Michael C. Hall’s titular vigilante serial killer and his Dark Passenger hiding out in a small, snow-laden town under the alias of Jim Lindsay. The clip opens with Dexter sitting in his therapist’s office. “I’ve always had my demons, and so I went away,” he admits to his counselor, as scenes flash by showing his quiet life in the Pacific Northwest. (He works as a sales associate at a local fish and game store! He’s dating a cop!) “But sometimes, I have an urge too strong to ignore,” he continues. “Every day I walk through this wo...

John Lithgow Joins Cast of Showtime’s Dexter Revival

John Lithgow is reprising his role as the “Trinity Killer” for the upcoming revival of Dexter, according to Deadline. The return is described as “a short but decisive appearance,” with Deadline reporting the writers have “concocted a pathway for the Trinity Killer to come back that works within the larger Dexter narrative.” As such, Lithgow is only expected to film on the Los Angeles set for “a day or so.” In 2010, the now-75-year-old actor won an Emmy Award for his portrayal of Arthur Mitchell during Season 4 of the original series. Mitchell was a source of particular interest for Michael C. Hall’s titular character, appearing to show a path to balancing a family with a secret life as a serial killer. Dexter ultimately offed him during the season finale. Related Video Airing on Showt...

HBO’s Perry Mason Tweaks the Past to Build a More Exciting Future: Review

The Pitch. When I heard that Perry Mason was soon to be gracing HBO, I will have to admit, I laughed. Forgive me, Perry Mason obsessives, but my chief memory of the reruns of the Perry Mason TV show of the 1950s and 1960s (to which this series bears no resemblance) from adolescence is that my father used it on Sunday nights as a sleep aid. Usually, he conked out somewhere during the opening theme. When I stayed up to watch the show, what I saw was a collage of grays, whites, and blacks, a moving gallery of future character actors and movie stars swirling around imperious and determined courtroom lawyer Mason, played by Raymond Burr. Ultimately, there wasn’t anything terribly dramatic about any of it except for Mason’s eyebrows and the occasional blast of wobbly soundtrack. And ye...
