In the year 1987, rock was top of the heap. The late Eddie Van Halen was still the king of the axe, U2 and The Edge were on top of the world. And Def Leppard’s Hysteria hit like a rocket. With Robert John “Mutt” Lange on production duties, the British heavy metal band found a new sound. It was a steam train, a rock ‘n’ roll juggernaut with sugar poured on it. The followup to their breakthrough Pyromania from 1983, Hysteria had it all. Here was a collection of pop songs on steroids, hits with more muscle than Gold’s Gym, a stick of musical dynamite that blew up everywhere. Randy Rainbow is a modern-day alchemist. The New York-native has made a handy living from taking the most asinine of politicians, and turning them into comedy gold. The viral entertainer’s pointed parodies have been watched more than 500 million times on YouTube, and now, with the publication of his autobiography, Playing With Myself, Rainbow is converting more fans to his brand of comedy. On Tuesday night (April 26), Rainbow stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live for a blast from the past, and some personal history lessons. Rainbow, we learned, really is his last name. “I wouldn’t make it up. It sounds like the corniest stage name ever, he admits,” pointed out it’s covered in the book, chapters 1-16. “Thankfully I grew into what I’ve become.” Explore Explore See latest videos, charts and news See l...
You know how it is with white supremacists — they dish it, but they can’t take it. Such is the case with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who reported Jimmy Kimmel to the Capitol Police over a joke he made about her on Jimmy Kimmel Live! In a recent monologue, the late night host criticized the Georgia Republican for her comments on Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson. “This woman, Klan mom, is especially upset with the three Republican senators who said they’ll vote yes on Ketanji Brown Jackson, who’s nominated for the Supreme Court,” Kimmel said. “She tweeted, ‘Murkowski, Collins, and Romney are pro-pedophile. They just voted for KBJ.’ Wow, where is Will Smith when you really need him?” Kimmel was, of course, referring to Will Smith’s slap against Chris Rock at the Oscars. MTG u...
Alt-J swung by Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night to perform “Hard Drive Gold,” a cut from their new album The Dream. Check out the performance below. Thom Sonny Green, Gus Unger-Hamilton, and lead singer Joe Newman rocked out in front of a projection screen with geometric shapes floating across it, the most common type being golden blocks. The performers stayed relatively still behind their mics, but Newman put lots of energy into his voice, having loads of fun on the long, drawn-out “brr” when he sang, “Non-shatter ruler, put it on the table and go ‘brr’/ Watch it shatter.” Check out “Hard Drive Gold” below. Back in February, Alt-J appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where the trio performed the new song “U&ME” and the 2012 classic “Breezeblocks.” The ...

Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel took April Fools’ Day to a whole new level this year. Switching coasts and networks, the comedians traded late night shows for the evening, with Fallon hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Kimmel hosting The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. While the bit is funny to rewatch on YouTube, it’s especially entertaining to see the reactions of the shows’ studio audiences, who received the prank in real time. The Jimmy Kimmel Live! audience went especially nuts for Fallon, who quipped, “Please, please please, settle down, you’re going to offend the other Jimmy!” Kimmel had the same thought, asking Fallon’s audience, “Show of hands: How many of you are disappointed? Be honest.” During their monologues, the pair chatted via satellite about the Freaky ...
