The Brooklyn star is seeking to sell his stake back to D’Ussé’s parent company Bacardi but claims that he’s being lowballed in return. TMZ has been at the forefront of reporting about the impending sale, noting that Jay-Z launched a lawsuit against Bacardi earlier this week and demanding to see financials regarding the cognac. Jay-Z and Bacardi are currently split down the middle in regards to owning the cognac brand, which has emerged as a major player in the vast world of adult beverages. As spotted on TMZ, the Brooklyn, New York native is taking one of his partners to court. This week the celebrity gossip website obtained paperwork which confirms that Hov’s corporation, SC Liquors, is demanding total financial transparency from the global conglomerate. The Brooklyn rapper/mogul was awarded almost $7 million dollars in unpaid royalties from his former partner Parlux Fragrances. As per Complex the music icon will be cashing in on a deal that went very wrong. On Thursday, August 25 Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Andrew Borrok ruled that perfume company Parlux, owes Jay-Z $6.78 million in unpaid royalties. The judgment comes nine months after the two parties took their differences to court, and it was deemed that Jay-Z did not breach the contract as an ambassador for the now defunct smell good product.
