Tanya Roberts, a former Bond girl and ’80s B-movie star who later played Donna Pinciotti’s mom Midge on That ’70s Show, has died at the age of 65. According to TMZ, Roberts was hospitalized on Christmas Eve after collapsing in her home. She passed away on Sunday, January 3rd. A former teenage model, Roberts re-located to Los Angeles in the late 1970s to pursue a career in acting. She initially landed bit parts and roles in B-movies, but in 1980 she was chosen from some 2,000 candidates to replace Shelley Hack in the fifth season of ABC’s Charlie’s Angels. The gig proved to be short-lived, however, as Charley’s Angels was canceled at the end of the season. Roberts was subsequently cast in the 1982 cult fantasy film The Beastmaster and the 1983 made-for-TV movie Murder Me, Murder You. In 198...

Hulu is inviting James Bond to Thanksgiving dinner, so don’t forget the martinis. Only days after the world lost the Bond that started it all — the great and legendary Sir Sean Connery — the streaming tentpole is keeping America’s November tradition alive by adding the majority of 007’s missions to their catalogue. This includes From Russia with Love (1964), Thunderball (1965), You Only Live Twice (1967), On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969), Diamonds Are Forever (1971), Live and Let Die (1973), The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), Octopussy (1983), A View to a Kill (1985), The Living Daylights (1987), License to Kill (1989), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), and The World is Not Enough (1999). Strangely enough, Hulu has also secured the first t...
Sean Connery, the Academy Award-winning Scottish actor who portrayed James Bond in seven films, has died at the age of 90. According to BBC News, Connery passed away overnight in his sleep, while in the Bahamas. He was said to be ill for some time. Connery was the first actor to play the British super spy in film, starring in seven Bond pictures between 1962 and 1983. He led the franchise’s first five installments — Dr. No (1962), From Russia with Love (1963), Goldfinger (1964), Thunderball (1965), and You Only Live Twice (1967) — and later reprised the role for 1971’s Diamonds Are Forever and 1983’s Never Say Never Again. To this day, Connery remains a beloved figure in the Bond franchise, and is considered the favorite Bond among fans and critics alike. In a recent poll conducted by...
Current Bond Daniel Craig is honoring original Bond Sean Connery in light of his death. “It is with such sadness that I heard of the passing of one of the true greats of cinema,” Craig wrote in a statement issued on Saturday. “Sir Sean Connery will be remembered as Bond and so much more. He defined an era and a style. The wit and charm he portrayed on screen could be measured in mega watts; he helped create the modern blockbuster. He will continue to influence actors and film-makers alike for years to come. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones. Wherever he is, I hope there is a golf course.” Meanwhile, the estate of late Bond actor Roger Moore paid tribute to Connery on Twitter: “How infinitely sad to hear the news Sir Sean Connery has passed away. He and Roge...
Kyle Meredith With… Butch Vig Listen via Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Google Play | Stitcher | Radio Public | RSS Garbage drummer and super-producer Butch Vig speaks with Kyle Meredith about Divine Accidents. The sophomore album from his side outfit 5 Billion In Diamonds finds him once again collaborating with The Soundtrack of Our Lives’ Ebbot Lundberg, Bristol UK producer Andy Jenks, and DJ James Grillo. Vig discusses how the band was inspired by late ’60s film music, why they looked to space and spirituality to make sense of the insane, and the similarities with writing Garbage’s James Bond theme to 1999’s The World Is Not Enough. Speaking of Garbage, Vig says the new album is about finished and talks about it being dark, schizo...
Looks like James Bond has no time to be released: No Time to Die has been delayed once again, and is now scheduled for April 2nd, 2021. Daniel Craig’s fifth and final mission as 007 was originally expected to premiere in the US on April 10th. Like most things in entertainment, it was delayed in the early days of the pandemic, setting a new date of November 20th. However, with major markets like Los Angeles and New York still in various stages of lockdown, and many European areas experiencing a “second wave” of increased infection rates, MGM has postponed the movie once again. The news is, sadly, not at all surprising. Bond is a huge moneymaker abroad, with 72.6% of the $1.111 billion gross for the last entry in the series, 2015’s Spectre, coming from the global box office. It makes se...
Daniel Craig is ready to hang up his martini glass, and the rumors are full of big names who could put the “oh!” into 007. Now, Henry Cavill has announced his desire to be the next James Bond. The 37-year-old actor has already played Superman, Sherlock Holmes, and the titular monster-slayer of The Witcher. That might be enough pop culture dominance for a regular geek, but Cavill is true super nerd. Via GQ, he’s spent quarantine painting Warhammer figurines, and when he was cast in 2013’s Man of Steel, he famously missed the big phone call from Zack Snyder because he was mid-battle in World of Warcraft. Cavill said, “I saw it was him… but you can’t pause World of Warcraft, it’s live.” The actor has apparently always had a soft spot for the world’s greatest spy. In a...
James Bond … is still planning to return in 2020. In a wild twist of fate, the highly anticipated and much-delayed No Time to Die may actually be one of the few remaining blockbusters to see the light in this godforsaken year. Today, MGM recharged the hype machine with an explosive new trailer that promises 007 will be back by November. Now billed as “the mission that changes everything”, the fifth and final outing for Daniel Craig appears to be his diciest yet. In the trailer below, we see even more glimpses of his adventure, which includes the kind of literal high-wire stunts that may just be enough to get this bloody writer back into theaters again. Just maybe. We also get our first real look at Oscar winner Rami Malek as main villain Safin. His face is certainly a far cry away from the...
Source: Nicola Dove / DANJAQ, LLC AND MGM The latest trailer for No Time To Die, the latest James Bond flick, has arrived, and it’s full of Black people. It’s also jam-packed with action as Daniel Craig is literally ducking cars, jumping off bridges, shooting up SUV’s and testing just how bulletproof his whip really is. Source: Nicola Dove / DANJAQ, LLC AND MGM As for the plot, Bond is no longer on active duty and is trying to mind his business in Jamaica. But that’s a wash when Felix Leiter (once again portrayed by Jeffrey Wright) and the CIA come through asking for a hand in rescuing a kidnapped scientist. What could possibly go wrong? Along the way he meets the new 007 (“a disarming young woman,” per Bond(), portrayed by the dope actress Lashana Lynch. In the trailer, she shares a momen...
