One person died and two others were injured in separate falls during a Phish concert in San Francisco on Sunday. According to KPIX 5, a man fell from the upper-level section of the Chase Center during Phish’s first of two sets. “Medics arrived and immediately provided medical treatment, but despite the efforts of the emergency responders the victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased,” a San Francisco police spokesperson said. About an hour later, a second man fell from the 200s section and onto another man below. Both men were taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Trey Anastasio is bringing fans back to the Beacon. The Phish frontman has announced an eight-week virtual residency to be livestreamed from New York City’s iconic Beacon Theatre. Dubbed “The Beacon Jams”, the shows come in partnership with MSG Entertainment and Twitch. Every Friday from October 9th through November 27th, Anastasio will take the Beacon stage for performances that will be broadcast on his Twitch channel beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET. There will be both electric and acoustic sets, as well as moments of interaction with the home audience. Proceeds from the events and all merch sales during the streams will benefit Phish’s non-profit organization, the WaterWheel Foundation. Founding Widespread Panic drummer Todd Nance has died at the age of 57. He passed away in Athens, Georgia from “sudden and unexpectedly severe complications of a chronic illness,” according to a statement from Nance’s family. His former bandmates in Widespread Panic issued a statement today as well. “With heavy hearts and loving memories we say goodbye to our Brother Todd Alton Nance,” it reads. “Widespread Panic was born the night of Todd’s first show… For thirty years Todd was the engine of the Widespread Panic.
