Ja Rule Drags Billboard’s ’50 Greatest Rappers of All Time’ List After Exclusion, Twitter Debates

Ja Rule & Irv Gotti Respond To Fat Joe’s Criticism Of Their ‘Drink Champs’ Interview

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty For the past few days social media has been roasting Irv Gotti for unnecessarily making his old affair with Ashanti the topic of discussion during Nore’s latest Drink Champs episode, and now Fat Joe has weighed in on the matter and it didn’t make Irv nor Ja Rule too happy. After the Hip-Hop legend called Irv Gotti a “sucka” for obsessing over his love affair with the “Rain On Me” singer and called out Ja for not defending Ashanti during the interview, Ja Rule took to social media to clap back at his one-time Verzuz opponent. Said Ja: “STOP saying I didn’t defend sis and all women when I clearly told Gotti stop calling Ashanti/women the B word same way I told Joe at Verzuz watch the interview before you talk sh*t…” Related Stories Irv ...

Hip-Hop and R&B have had a long love affair thanks to some choice collaborations. But it can safely be said that once Murder Inc. labelmates Ashanti—who is the latest cover star over at our sister site Hello Beautiful—and Ja Rule teamed up, they pushed such collaborations to become a new art form under the keen production of Irv Gotti. Here, we give a rundown of their best collaborations that kept them at the top of the charts and still keep fans hoping for that joint album both promised back in 2018. 1) ”Always On Time”, 2001

Ja Rule Addresses 50 Cent Verzuz Rumor

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: TMZ / TMZ On Tuesday night (Sept. 14), the fan-favorite Verzuz competition will be adding a new chapter when Fat Joe and Ja Rule go head-to-head and hit-for-hit in Madison Square Garden. Alhough it’s not the 50 Verzuz Ja that we had hoped for, don’t dismiss a Fofty appearance just yet. Recently TMZ caught up with the once cornerstone of the Murder Inc. record label to talk about his upcoming battle with Fat Joe in which Joey Crack promised to “drag” Ja through the streets with his block huggin’ records. Taking the “threats” in stride, Ja said he would be comfortable taking it to the streets with Joe, but when the subject came to 50 Cent, Ja felt that 50 doesn’t deserve his attention anymore saying, “He had his shot. I wanted him in the doghouse first...

Fat Joe vs Ja Rule ‘Verzuz’ Battle Announced

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty It ain’t over. Today (September 2), the next Verzuz was announced as a battle between Bronx rapper Fat Joe and Queens crooner, ahem, rapper Ja Rule. Fat Joe vs Ja Rule is going down Tuesday, September 14 in New York City, per the official Verzuz account. Tickets go on sale on September 7, and we’re going to assume the venue will once again be the Madison Square Garden Theater. Many consider the last Verzuz—The LOX vs Dipset—to be the best one yet. It’s basically understood the Yonkers trio got the W, but Fat Joe and Ja Rule will have their work cut out for them to bring the same type of energy. Not so ironically, it was Ja Rule’s song, “New York,” which features Fat Joe and Jadakiss, that was one the pivotal moments in that battle. Wi...

Class Action Fyre Festival Suit Reaches $2 Million Settlement for Attendees

Prior to its catastrophic downfall, it at one point seemed that Fyre Festival could command any price for a coveted ticket to the Great Exuma event. Now, four years in the rearview, it ended up being the attendees who would be compensated for their troubles. Well, at least some of them anyway.  According to The New York Times, 277 ticket holders have reached a settlement with Fyre Festival amounting to a total of $2 million—that’s $7,220 apiece. Due to the stratification of ticket prices, which ranged from $1,000 to $12,000 a pop, and with some limited luxury packages priced in the tens of thousands, it’s difficult to say whether anyone came out ahead or even broke even in terms of financials after all of this. The initial class action suit was submitted for a cl...
