Report: Arsenal keeping tabs on 24-year-old striker, who has bagged 16 goals this season

Arsenal are monitoring the progress of Brentford striker Ivan Toney, a report from The Express claims. The 24-year-old joined the Bees from Peterborough United last summer after bagging 26 goals in the 2019/2020 League One season. He has proved the perfect replacement for Ollie Watkins, who left for Aston Villa and has already registered 16 goals from 22 Championship appearances. Toney has now caught the eye of some top clubs and it is reported that he has left a good impression on Gunners scouts with his performances. While the Gunners are not looking to sign a striker this month, it is suggested that they could look for one in the future with the uncertainty over Alexandre Lacazette’s future. Lacazette’s current deal expires in the summer of 2022 and the club have yet to negotiate a poss...

Club owner suggests Leeds United should bid for his player

Peterborough United co-owner Darragh MacAnthony has said on Twitter that Leeds United should be in the running to sign Ivan Toney. MacAnthony has said that Leeds, who are preparing for their first season back in the Premier League after 16 years, are not in for the former Newcastle United striker. The 24-year-old is a player in demand, with The Daily Record reporting earlier this month that Celtic, Queens Park Rangers and Brighton and Hove Albion are interested in the striker. Toney himself told Sky Sports this week that he wants a new challenge, adding that he would like to play in the Premier League. No Tom but should be 😀. Have a great season pal https://t.co/z0hs3nXajU — Darragh MacAnthony (@DMAC102) August 20, 2020 Should Leeds United make a move for Ivan Toney? Toney is one o...

Report confirms Celtic’s offer for 24-goal attacker who is wanted by their rivals as well

Celtic are keen on signing the Peterborough forward Ivan Toney this summer. Neil Lennon is close to wrapping up the signing of Albian Ajeti on loan and it seems that Toney is another attacking target for him. As per Daily Record, Celtic submitted a £5m bid for the 26-year-old but the offer has been turned down. Apparently, Peterborough value the player higher than that. Rangers are keen on the player as well. It remains to be seen whether the Scottish champions come forward with another improved offer now. Toney has had a very good season with Peterborough and he could prove to be a superb addition to Celtic’s attack. Currently, the Hoops are reliant on Edouard for goals. The arrivals of Ajeti and Toney would give them the depth they need to compete on all fronts. Plus, the Hoops will...

Report: Celtic in talks with English club to sign ‘rare’ talent

According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic are in talks with Peterborough United over the signing of Ivan Toney in the summer transfer window. Celtic head of football operations Nick Hammond is trying to reach an agreement with Peterborough in League One in England for the 24-year0old striker, according to the report. It has been rpeorted that although the Posh have accepted a bid from Brentford – who are in the Championship playoffs and could end up getting promoted to the Premier League – the Glasgow giants have not given up on bringing the former Newcastle United striker to Celtic Park this summer. Good signing for Celtic Described by Peterborough owner Darragh MacAnthony as a player who is “rare to find” on Twitter in June 2020, Toney would be a superb signing for Celtic in the summer trans...
