Suicidal Tendencies’ Instagram Account Was Taken Down Due to Band Name

Suicidal Tendencies‘ Instagram account mysteriously disappeared three weeks ago, and it turns out that the band’s name was likely flagged by the social media platform’s content filter. The iconic crossover thrash act returned to Instagram yesterday (October 6th) after apparently recovering its account and “@suicidaltendencies” handle. As the band remarked in a new post, it’s not the first time the name has been censored. The account blackout couldn’t have happened at a more inopportune time for Suicidal Tendencies. The group made a major festival appearance at Louder Than Life and played the SoCal Hoedown Festival during that span — no doubt prime occasions for social media content. Facebook & Its Family of Apps Suffer Massive Service Outage, Hilarity Ensues On Twitter

HipHopWired Featured Video CLOSE Source: KIRILL KUDRYAVTSEV / Getty The world found out what life would be like if Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp didn’t exist for a few hours. Monday (Oct.4), social media was a spooky place for people who spend most of their time on Facebook and its family of apps it acquired. Ironically, right after a whistleblower revealed how shady the social media giant is when it comes to capitalizing off its user’s mental health during an episode of 60 Minutes on Sunday (Oct.3), the service came crashing down on Monday. Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp were useless for about five hours and revealed how attached people have grown to these apps. Businesses, politicians, and everyday people felt the sting of the planetary outage due to the company built by Mark Zuck...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: SOPA Images / Getty Instagram wants to put an end to the cap. They have started to crack down on companies who offer fake engagement. As spotted on Vice Magazine the insanely popular social media app is getting serious on third party brands cooking the books when it comes to taps to the heart icon. According to the article Facebook, who owns IG, served LikeUp.Me with a cease and desist last week. In response the company shut down their site with a message saying “Sorry, LikeUp isn’t working :(. This service will no longer work. Sorry. Refunds for the last month are being processed. If you didn’t get a refund after July 1, 2021, please send your order number & the email you used to sign up here: hello@likeup.me”. The story is further validated by ...

Leaked testimony from Haiti suspects says plan was to arrest, not kill president

A group of Colombians and Haitian Americans suspected of assassinating Haitian President Jovenel Moise told investigators they were there to arrest him, not kill him, the Miami Herald and a person familiar with the matter said on Sunday. Moise was shot dead early on Wednesday at his Port-au-Prince home by what Haitian authorities say was a unit of assassins made up of 26 Colombians and two Haitian Americans, plunging the troubled Caribbean nation into deeper turmoil. The murder and uncertainty about who hatched the plot is the latest in a succession of blows to hit the struggling country, which has appealed for international help. Washington has so far rebuffed Haiti’s request for troops, though a senior U.S. official said on Sunday that Washington was sending a technical team to assess th...

Lil Kim Fires Back At 50 Cent Over Instagram Jab, Digs In Over Dinner Date Diss

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Bennett Raglin / Getty Lil’ Kim and 50 Cent have collaborated musically in the past, but whatever solid bonds that existed then are now far in the rearview mirror. After Fif took a swipe at the Brooklyn rapper, Kim fired back and made mention that her husband was taking care of the light work too. To be fair, 50 Cent didn’t seem to be making a direct shot at Lil’ Kim, but he did share a meme photo of Kim next to an owl, writing in the caption, “who did this sh*t, this ain’t right. LOL catch FOR LIFE on IMDb Tv now.” Kim brushed the shot off with ease and telling her Queens counterpart that a failed attempt at getting a dinner date is why Fif took the jab. From Lil’ Kim’s IG: The accuracy Hilarious I ain’t bothered not one bit. My family & friends more...

Yola Shares the Origins of Sultry New Single “Starlight”: Exclusive

In the new music feature Origins, musicians share unique insights into their most recent single. Today, the great Yola tells us how she shines like “Starlight”. After sharing lead single “Diamond Studded Shoes” and title track “Stand for Myself” off her upcoming sophomore album, Yola is back today with a third taste, “Starlight”.
