NSA: President Buhari to announce critical solution to #EndSARS protest in hours
The National Security Adviser (NSA) to the President, retired Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno, says President Muhammadu Buhari is to announce a critical solution to the #EndSARS protest in a couple of hours. Monguno, who made this known at the end of the fourth National Security Council meeting, presided by the president in Abuja on Thursday said Buhari also directed all security agencies to always operate within the confine of legitimacy and legality. Police arrest 12 suspects over attack on police stations in Benin
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Mohammed Adamu, on Tuesday said that 12 suspects have been arrested in connection with the attacks and arson on Police Stations in Benin. In a statement in Abuja, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Mr Frank Mba, disclosed that five AK47 rifles, earlier stolen from vandalised police stations, have also been recovered. Adamu had ordered the deployment of anti-riot police unit, the Police Mobile Force (PMF), to protect lives and property of all Nigerians and secure critical national infrastructure across the country. Police lay siege on Delta hotel, denies NGO from holding meeting
Authorities of the Nigeria Police Force, on Friday, deprived an NGO, Brothers Across Nigeria, BAN, from holding her General Assembly at a popular Delta hotel in Ughelli, as armed police officers laid siege around the premises of Wetland Hotel. The group had insisted on holding its meeting, demanding from the police the reason why they should not hold their meeting. Three feared dead as security men raid Rivers towns
Three persons were feared dead and many wounded when a patrol team of military and police officials raided communities in Andoni council area of Rivers State. It was gathered that the operatives were accompanied by a local security outfit, the Andoni Security Peace and Advisory Council. The Federal High Court in Abuja, on Monday, again ordered the police to produce Vijah Opuama, the Bayelsa Governorship Candidate in the Nov. 16, 2019 election. IG orders Edo, Ondo CPs to review preparations ahead of elections
The Inspector General of Police (IG), Mr Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the Edo and Ondo states Commissioners of Police (CPs) to rejig preparations ahead of the governorship elections coming up in the states. NHRC unveils new digital complaint platform
Wikipedia The National Human Rights Commission said on Saturday that it had unveiled a new automated complaint reporting database for reporting of various forms of human rights violations in the country. According to the commission, the “automated complaint reporting database” is “a real-time digital platform that provides citizens with opportunities to promptly report all forms of human rights violations involving civilians, security personnel”, among others.
