1. Nocturnal Wonderland Not only does Nocturnal Wonderland claim to be the longest-running electronic festival in America, but it’s also home to an ingenious venue and camping section. Each year, Nocturnal Wonderland is known for its intimacy and huge headliners. The grounds are filled with blacklight art, neon signs, and dancers galore. The campgrounds, situated within San Bernardino’s Glen Helen Regional Park, are picturesque, and campers can visit a water park during their free time. An RV is the perfect way to camp here—it’s close to what Insomniac calls “Camp OG.” This is a section of the campground filled with old-school ravers who have been devoted fans since the festival’s inception in 1995. Insomniac has announced a brand new electronic music record label and festival experience. Dubbed Lost In Dreams, the brand will operate under the same umbrella as Insomniac’s other fan-favorite titles, including Bassrush, Basscon, Factory 93, and Dreamstate. Much like “Dawn,” the melodic vertical of Excision‘s Subsidia Records, the Lost In Dreams record label will focus on future bass, melodic dubstep, and electronic pop music. True to Insomniac fashion, a press release issued by the famed dance music event brand also teased an “immersive festival experience,” but details are scarce at the moment. Announcements of major label signings are to be expected in the coming weeks, and the imprint will lean heavily into “vocal-driven dance music,” accordi...

Over the past few months, Insomniac has been hosting their Electric Mile drive-thru experience. At the reoccurring event, fans are able to drive through a one-hour course featuring festival-grade production and sound from the promoter. Earlier in the week, in an effort to showcase the beauty of the experience, they recruited JOYRYDE for a new livestreamed performance from the back of a car traveling through the Electric Mile. On Twitter, the British producer shared some stunning images of his trip through the lights. In the photos, you can see his custom car stage, some of the intricate backdrops, and even some guest dancers. While still images are enough to make one’s jaw drop, the video of the full performance really captures the magic of traveling through the intense producti...
2020 was the year gaming and dance music came together more than ever before. Prior to the pandemic, Twitch was predominantly used as a platform for gamers, but during the COVID-19 era, DJs made it their home as well, trading in the massive festival stages for livestreams as a way to stay connected to their fans. To further link these two worlds, HARD Events has launched its new streaming program, TRY HARDs on Insomniac TV via Twitch. TRY HARDs will pit professional gamers against some of your favorite DJs each week. Beginning February 15th, you can watch them smack talk each other as they compete for bragging rights in their favorite games. It will be hosted by long-time gaming personality, Brittani Johnson of G4TV fame. Season One will span over the course of six wee...
The latest to swerve into the drive-in rave craze is NGHTMRE, who will soon be descending on the sprawling parking lot of San Bernardino’s NOS Events Center for a massive socially distanced concert. NGHTMRE will now enter the fray on Friday, February 12th. Joining the trap and dubstep superstar will be fellow bass music heavyweight Effin and Las Vegas-based DJ Black AM. Pouring gasoline on the excitement surrounding the show, NGHTMRE announced the performance on social media, tweetin...
Those of you who are unable to attend deadmau5‘s 2020 New Year’s drive-in shows are in luck. After another typically huge year, the mau5 is set to bid adieu to 2020 with a run of drive-in concerts in Southern California, two of which will be livestreamed for those taking in the celebrations at home. Fans will be able to stream his December 31st show before tuning into his January 2nd, 2021 performance, in which he’ll be operating under his dark techno alias TESTPILOT. His New Year’s Eve stream is scheduled to kick off at 6PM PT (9PM ET) and will also feature fellow mau5trap artists No Mana and Speaker Honey before its conclusion at 10PM PT (1PM ET). Despite vaccines slowly being rolled out across the world, it’s sadly still not safe to have a big, in-person New Year’s Eve celebration. In light of this disappointing reality, Insomniac has whipped up a collection of replay sets—packaged into a New Year’s Eve countdown livestream—perfect for socially distanced partying at home. The iconic promoter recently unveiled a lineup for the online event, which they dubbed “Virtual Flashback.” Set to be featured on the stream this week are archival performances from Dillon Francis, Kaskade, Kill The Noise, Moore Kismet, Subtronics, deadmau5‘s TESTPILOT alias, and the late i_o, among others. Each of the sets took place at one of Insomniac’s “Virtual Rave-A-Thon” events this y...
Even though we get closer to live music by the day, livestreams have served to keep dance music fans sane during the concert drought. One of the latest artists to deliver a new set for the bored masses is Tchami. Unlike many sets you’ve seen in the past couple of months, his Insomniac-powered performance was recorded on the helipad of the gigantic One Thousand Museum condominium in Miami. Thankfully he’s not afraid of heights as the helipad sits on top of one of the tallest buildings in the city. From his 707-foot vantage point, the video shows a side of the city rooted in the history of dance music that few may have ever seen. Combined with his energetic sound, the scenic mix is perfect for a wild night in lockdown or a much-needed jolt in the morning. Tchami packed ...
