Delta government approves Kwale industrial park

Delta State Government held its first Executive Council (EXCO) meeting of the year at Government House, Asaba, weekend, announcing the approval of key infrastructural projects, including the full establishment of the Kwale Industrial Park in Ndokwa West. The Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, disclosed these while briefing newsman on resolutions at the meeting presided by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. Aniagwu said approval was given for the establishment of the multi-billion-naira Kwale Industrial Park with 25 per cent equity for the state government, while private operators would hold the remaining 75 per cent equity. Ekiti imposes curfew, bans public gathering of more than twenty

In a bid time curtail the spread of the second wave of Covid-19 in Ekiti, the state Government on Sunday imposed a curfew from 8.00 pm to 6.00 am. The Government also banned all gatherings of more than twenty people in the state until further notice. The Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation, Hon Akinbowale Omole, who announced these new guidelines in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, said the restrictions take effect Monday at 6 am January 11, 2021. Abia governor suspends chief of staff for spraying naira notes

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has suspended his chief of staff Anthony Agbazuere from office with immediate effect. Mr. Agbabueze was filmed spraying new naira notes on controversial preacher Chukwuemeka Odumeje at his office. Enugu governor commiserates with fatal accident school children’s families

Benue health commissioner resigns

The Benue State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Sunday Ongbabo, has resigned his position. Dr. Ongbabo until his resignation also doubled as the Secretary of the State Action Committee on COVID-19. Journalist suspended for requesting salary on social media

A journalist with the Imo State government has been suspended indefinitely from her job for taking to Facebook to request her three months unpaid salary and the wages of her co-workers. Officials said the Facebook post was an “embarrassment” to the Imo State government. The suspended journalist, Vivian Ottih, is a lawyer and a senior editor with the government-owned IBC Orient FM radio station.
