In the hours leading up to the kickoff of Rammstein’s North American stadium tour in Montreal, Canada on Sunday (August 21st), a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the city and surrounding area. The threat of heavy rains, potentially dangerous gusts of wind, oversized hail, intense lightning and pounding thunder were forecast throughout the day. And while there were flashes and bursts of all these elements throughout the afternoon, the weather report had it wrong. It was not the Earth’s atmosphere that was about to deliver on this powerful barometric disturbance. It was the German industrial-metal icons. It’s not hard to imagine that their impending 2-million-watt assault on Montreal’s Parc Jean Drapeau and its home on St. Helen’s Island was about to cause such a seismic ripple acr...
A hiccup on the second date of Rob Zombie’s co-headlining US tour with Mudvayne led to a fun onstage moment on Thursday night (July 21st) in Noblesville, Indiana. After a truck fire forced the cancellation of sets by opening acts Static-X and Powerman 5000, Zombie invited both bands to join him onstage for performances of White Zombie’s “Thunder Kiss ’65” and the Ramones’ “Blitzkrieg Bop.” A truck carrying lighting and sound equipment for the show caught fire and broke down on the way to the venue. Unfortunately, when the stage was finally set up, there wasn’t enough time for Static-X or Powerman 5000 to perform. Mudvayne delivered an abbreviated set of just seven songs, and Zombie only performed 12 songs. With Static-X and Powerman 5000 at the venue with nothing to do, Zombie brought both...
Rammstein have never shied from embracing the sexual or erotic, and video while the video for the band’s latest single, “Dicke Titten,” is tame compared to past clips, it’s still par for the course for the German industrial metal giants. “Dicke Titten” hails from the band’s new album Zeit and literally translates to “Big Boobs.” Leave it to frontman Till Lindemann and company to write a song and make a video paying homage to women with large breasts. The Joern Heitmann-directed clip sees a bearded Lindemann in traditional German garb, reveling with his fellow villagers. Their choreographed stomp dancing is interspersed with women also wearing traditional attire as they perform mundane chores such as using a washboard, milking a cow, and washing clothes. Yes, they all have big breasts, and ...

For our favorite new songs from emerging artists, check out our Spotify New Sounds playlist. This week, Rammstein’s maximalist banger “Angst” is worming its way into our brains. We’ve been jamming Rammstein’s new album Zeit, and one song in particular has stood out: “Angst.” It’s our Song of the Week. The German industrial metal icons just dropped a truly insane video for the track, featuring everything from manic cheerleaders to choreographed lawnmower pushing. It could only come from the minds of Rammstein, who never fail to deliver bombastic visuals to accompany their equally maximal songs. Advertisement “Angs...
German industrial-metal masters Rammstein have unleashed their eighth album, Zeit. The LP, which can be streamed below, comes exactly three years after the release of their previous full-length, 2019’s untitled effort. Rammstein had extensive tour plans lined up for their 2019 album, but the pandemic forced them off the road before they can play any 2020 shows. Instead of waiting around to hit the concert stage again, the band hit the studio to record Zeit, resulting in a relatively quick turnaround following a near 10-year gap between their two previous albums. Now, Rammstein will, in essence, be supporting two new albums when they finally resume touring next month in Europe. Among the dynamic live act’s 2022 dates is the band’s first-ever full-scale North American stadium tour, which was...
Game of Thrones actress Esmé Bianco, who is already suing Marilyn Manson for sexual assault and human trafficking, has filed new legal documents accusing the shock rocker of blocking a video of her that was meant to screen at Deftones’ current tour dates. Apparently, Bianco filmed a video that was supposed “to be used as part of the stage set for [Deftones’] current tour,” according to a motion filed on Wednesday (April 27th) in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. The motion continued, “In exchange for providing her images, Ms. Bianco expected an economic benefit from significant public exposure via the band’s worldwide tour and the opportunity to continue working with the highly sought-after creative director who oversaw the project.” Advertisement Rel...
Rammstein have unveiled another new single ahead of their forthcoming album, Zeit. The latest song is called “Zick Zack” and it was preceded by a clever marketing campaign. On April 1st, Rammstein announced that they had invested in the “Zick Zack Beauty Clinic” in Berlin, which many fans thought to be an April Fools joke. While there’s no proof of the existence of the beauty clinic, fans around the world called a “Zick Zack” hotline to speak with a “team of experts.” Now, it’s evident that the campaign was tied to the new single and its accompanying music video, which, according to a press release, “deal with what is nowadays often a compulsive tendency on the part of the individual towards self-optimization, sometimes through radical alteration of the visual appearance by use of the scal...
German industrial-metal luminaries Rammstein are facing a rather industrial conundrum: a paper shortage. A supply chain crunch across Europe has led to high prices and a lack of supply in the paper industry. Apparently, Rammstein’s new album could face delays because of a scarcity in materials for record packaging and booklets. The news came from an interview with German composer Sven Helbig, who contributed to Rammstein’s new material. When asked about a possible release window for the completed album, Helbig said that the band feared it could be delayed due to the paper shortage. Advertisement Related Video “The band itself doesn’t know at the moment,” Helbig told German website saechsische.de [as translated by RammWiki] regarding a potential release date. “The trivial reason: lack of pa...
