After an unfortunately-canceled first day, When We Were Young’s inaugural festival finally kicked off this past Sunday (October 23rd) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Check out photos of the day below, featuring shots of Jimmy Eat World, Avril Lavigne, Paramore, My Chemical Romance, and more. From its announcement, When We Were Young was both hotly anticipated and heavily scrutinized. Skeptics pointed towards the relatively large size of the lineup for a single-day festival, predicting artist cancelations, general chaos, and conditions akin to Fyre Festival. While it might have seemed like the detractors wer...

Now stretching four days and spread out on four stages, this year’s installment had something for everyone, as promoter Danny Wimmer Presents continues to expand and diversify the lineup. Turnstile are keeping the momentum going for their superb 2021 album, GLOW ON, with a fall headlining North American tour. The outing kicked off Monday night (October 3rd) in the pouring rain at the outdoor New York venue Brooklyn Mirage, but the wet and chilly weather didn’t stop the Baltimore band from delivering one if its signature high-energy shows. Indie rocker Snail Mail (aka Lindsey Jordan) got the evening going with 10-song set, before giving way to hip-hop artist JPEGMafia, who got the crowd moving with a 16-song performance. At certain points in the show, JPEGMafia jumped down to the barricade to get up close and personal with fans, who welcomed him with a warm response. The rain let up for a brief moment right before Turnstile took the stage, only to return for the duration of ...

Aerosmith Rock 50th Anniversary Show at Boston’s Fenway Park: Photos + Video

Aerosmith were finally able to celebrate their 50th anniversary in grand style on Thursday night (September 8th) with a hometown show at Boston’s Fenway Park. The concert was originally set to take place in 2020, but was twice postponed due to the pandemic. The landmark gig marked Aerosmith’s second show back after the pandemic and Steven Tyler’s recent rehab stint kept the band off the road for two-and-a-half years. They warmed up with a concert in Bangor, Maine, this past Sunday (September 4th). After an opening set by fellow Boston rockers Extreme, the Aerosmith boys kicked off their set with “Back in the Saddle.” Joining original members Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford and Tom Hamilton for the career-spanning 19-song set was drummer John Douglas, who is filling in for Joey Kramer as he...

Nine Inch Nails Crush Red Rocks: Photos + Video

Nine Inch Nails played a two-night stand September 2nd and 3rd at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside of Denver, Colorado. Heavy Consequence was there to take in and capture the second of the two shows. Red Rocks is truly a unique venue, with the amphitheater built into an existing rock structure, adding a dramatic atmosphere for any band that plays there. The natural setting was even more evident when our photographer witnessed a deer randomly walking around as fans lined up to enter the concert. While the first of the two Red Rocks gigs spotlighted NIN’s 1999 album The Fragile, the second show put the focus on The Downward Spiral, with six tunes from the 1994 masterpiece making their way into the 23-song setlist. Rammstein Storm Montreal to Kick Off North American Tour: Recap + Photos

In the hours leading up to the kickoff of Rammstein’s North American stadium tour in Montreal, Canada on Sunday (August 21st), a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the city and surrounding area. The threat of heavy rains, potentially dangerous gusts of wind, oversized hail, intense lightning and pounding thunder were forecast throughout the day. And while there were flashes and bursts of all these elements throughout the afternoon, the weather report had it wrong. It was not the Earth’s atmosphere that was about to deliver on this powerful barometric disturbance. It was the German industrial-metal icons. It’s not hard to imagine that their impending 2-million-watt assault on Montreal’s Parc Jean Drapeau and its home on St. Helen’s Island was about to cause such a seismic ripple acr...
