Pastor held over ‘murder’ of 13-year church member
A pastor of one of the new generation churches in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State has been arrested by the police over the alleged murder of a 13-year member of his church, one Miracle. The deceased was said to have killed in suspicious circumstances, as heart was ripped open and vital organs missing when her corpse was discovered. Her corpse was dumped close to the Central Hospital, Agbor where operatives evacuated it from. Acting Public Relations Officer of the state police command, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the arrest in Asaba on Friday. NiMet’s weather outlook released on Sunday predicted dust haze conditions over the northern region with a moderate visibility range of 2KM to 5KM throughout the forecast period on Monday. Nigeria records lowest daily virus cases in three months
The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 221 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic outbreak in the country. The NCDC made this known on its official twitter handle on Wednesday. Newsmen report that the 221 new cases was the lowest number of cases recorded in the country in about three months. It recalls that on Aug. 4, Nigeria reported 288 COVID-19 new cases and 290 one week later, while another low figure of 252 was recorded on Aug. 25. NCDC said that there were more persons who died of COVID-19 related complications in the country in the last 24 hours with the national death toll rising to 1,010. Delta governor warns violators of inter-state lockdown
Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has warned unauthorized vehicles entering the state will be impounded while the operators will be made to face the wrath of the enabling laws. President Muhammadu Buhari had declared inter-state lockdown across the country to curtail the spread of COVID-19. Okowa handed down the warning while monitoring the level of compliance at some boundaries between Delta and neighbouring states of Edo and Anambra.
