Cross River: Igbo leaders to partner with police on community policing
President of Igbo Congress Cross River chapter, Prince Raymond Atulomah, has stated that Ndi Igbo would partner with police command in the area of community policing. Speaking during a courtesy call on the Cross River Commissioner for Police, Mr Sikiru Akande, in his office in Calabar on Friday, Atulomah said Igbo leaders crave for a crime-free society and therefore would contribute to ensuring that the police Command succeed in the area of crime fighting. Ohanaeze, South-East governors meet Governor Wike
Some Governors of the South-East and apex socio-cultural organization of the Igbo, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, are in a crucial meeting with Governor Nyesom Wike in Government House, Port Harcourt on Sunday. Though the agenda of the meeting could not be immediately ascertained, newsmen report that it may not be unconnected with the recent issues concerning the activities of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra and Wike’s stand on the issue. Lagos government promises to compensate victims of Fagba crisis
The Lagos State Government on Tuesday promised to compensate residents who lost their property to the Fagba crisis in Ifako-Ijaiye local government area of the state. Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, made the promise while on assessment of the level of destruction of property over the ethnic clash in the area.
