Family of i_o Announces Posthumous Full-Length Album

Two years after the tragic death of i_o, the family of the late electronic music producer has announced a posthumous album. The album, Warehouse Summer, will release tomorrow, November 23rd. Sources tell EDM.com the LP spans 14 tracks and each one features vocals from alt-pop star Lights, a frequent collaborator of the renowned DJ, whose real name was Garrett Lockhart. “This is a body of work that I’m immensely proud of and am very emotionally connected to,” Lights said in a statement. “Garrett was endlessly talented and he inspired me to give my all and be my best. It’s safe to say making this album with him was life-changing. I hope you immerse yourself in it, there is a lot to feel in Warehouse Summer.” Lockhart died on November 23rd, 2020. Death of i_o Revealed to Be a Result of Natural Causes

Nearly six months after the tragic passing of Garrett Lockhart, who to friends, fans, and fellow artists was affectionately known as i_o, the cause of death of the beloved techno producer was revealed to have been a result of natural causes. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner’s report listed a thyroid condition called Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, an autoimmune disorder that causes chronic inflammation of the thyroid gland. The report also notes that Lockhart died at his home. i_o’s cause of death was revealed to have been a result of a thyroid disorder. The EDM community lost a bright light this week when renowned electronic music producer i_o tragically passed away at the age of 30 on Monday, November 3rd. All week long, his friends and colleagues have banded together to pay tribute and share their favorite memories of the late artist.  To honor i_o, his family at mau5trap has partnered with Insomniac Events to host a special “Legacy” streaming event this Saturday, November 28th. Following the death of i_o, who tragically passed away this week at the age of 30, mau5trap has partnered with Insomniac Events for a special streaming event to honor the late techno producer. Rewind: On This Day in 2018, No Mana and i_o Released “Bad Things”

The EDM community is still reeling from the death of Garrett Lockhart, who to friends, fans, and fellow music producers was affectionately known as i_o. Following Lockhart’s tragic and sudden passing, a deluge of tributes flooded social media from many of his contemporaries, including deadmau5, NGHTMRE, and REZZ, among many others. One of the artists to pay homage to the prodigious producer was fellow techno artist and mau5trap linchpin No Mana, who called him a “partner in crime” and a “brother” in a poignant thread dedicated to his late friend.
