When shopping on a high-street budget, it’s all too easy to fall for the trend-smashing charms and regular arrivals at Zara. After all, we’re only human. The Spanish superbrand works fast and efficiently and never appears to miss a beat when it comes to the items we want in our wardrobes at any given moment. Midi dresses are my most-worn style throughout the year. Dôen, in particular, executes the whimsical cottagecore aesthetic that best describes my style. Unfortunately, though, we know all too well that The Row’s price point is not what we’d call accessible or anywhere near affordable. It might well be justified at times by the quality—not just of the fabrics but of the creative processes, too—and, of course, by the fact that these are anti-trend pieces that will live in a wardrobe forever.
