Back in January H&M announced its latest designer collaboration, and it was everything we could have wished for: Simone Rocha. Cannot compute! When January felt like it couldn’t be more bleak, along came a piece of shopping news that soothed the soul, saved our wardrobes and gave every fashion-lover something to look forward to. Well, the brand has just dropped all the lookbook imagery from the upcoming collab, and it’s as good as we’d hoped. As is tradition with all of H&M‘s legendary designer collaborations, this collection was shrouded in secrecy, but the sneak peak we are receiving today, ahead of the line (which drops on March 11—diarise now!) is enough to keep us going. It looks like all of the beloved Irish designer’s si...
Gone are the days when Urban Outfitters’ homeware section was compromised cute Tupperware and eclectic mugs (don’t fret—the ceramic elephant mug still makes an appearance). Now, it’s a bona fide boho interiors haven, with everything from full-on furniture (double beds, anyone?) to exclusive print collaborations with new and exciting artists. Recently, the brand’s Ansel table lamp, inspired by vintage the cult Murano glass mushroom lamp, has blown up on Instagram, and thus pulled me back into Urban Outfitters homeware department. The Ansel lamp might now be sold out (keep an eye, though, as it’s still in stock on the U.S. site and, who knows, may make a reappearance soon), but I’ve found countless other treasures I think are just as special. Although we may not be heading out to buzzy restaurants or able to showcase our most recent buys in the office these days, that doesn’t mean there aren’t any excuses for a great outfit moment. It could simply be layering up for your daily walks, or even just popping on a fresh leggings and sports bra set for yoga, but there’s something undeniably mood-lifting about getting dressed that feels important to hold onto these days. We get it, it’s not always easy putting effort into a look no one’s going to see, but the one brand helping us stay excited about our wardrobes at the moment is Free People. Somehow they’ve managed to nail exactly what we want our closets to look like right now: full of chic but comfy park-ready layers, dreamy loungewear and motivation-enhancing activ...
It’s almost impossible to think of a time when blazers didn’t dominate my wardrobe. Sure, I’d worn them at school (I was probably one of the only students who dutifully did so and, dare I say, enjoyed it). However, after leaving high school and enrolling at art school, they served no purpose in my closet. That was until I landed my first magazine internship in London. Unlike my hometown, which, at the time, had no Zara to speak, it felt as if there was a branch on every street corner. As such, during my four-week placement, my love of Zara only grew and grew and, subsequently, so did my blazer collection. For the purposes of this feature, I decided to count how many blazers I have in my wardrobe. In total? Nineteen. And how many of them are from Zara?...
It might still be Baltic outside, but our editors are now in full ‘spring’ mode, bringing you our take on the spring trends that are worth buying into and combing through all the new collections to bring you tight edits of the best pieces out there. Our shopping editor Joy Montgomery has already created this epic overview of the strongest items on the high street right now, but there was one collection which I thought deserved a little extra attention. Mango has become a firm favourite within the fashion crowd over the last few years, responding to what is trending to the higher echelons of design, putting its own spin on Instagram trends and working with the likes of Camille Charrière, Giorgia Tordini and Pernille Teisbaek. Mango might have pivoted several years ago to b...
If you’re looking to add some new pieces to your wardrobe for the year ahead, I’m here to share the best finds from Zara, H&M, and Mango that I’ve been eyeing up recently. I shop from the retailers regularly since they have lots of great wardrobe staples that I tend to wear on repeat. From my go-to bodysuits that continue to be stocked in new shades (because they’re that good) to tweed suiting I wear on repeat, you’ll certainly find some great pieces from each of the retailers in my closet. When buying them, I approach my purchases like I would anything else I’m adding to my wardrobe. I consider how often I’ll wear the items and if they’ll be something that works into my overall vibe, as opposed to something that is purely trend-driven and will have a short shelf-life. Here, I’m sharin...

Marks and Spencer’s collections are trend led but are never repercussions of the runway. The brand always somehow manages to make them its own. And for spring 2021, it’s done just that with its offering of easy-to-style staples that’ll improve your existing wardrobe. From the silhouettes of note to the most prevalent colours on the runway, M&S ticks off every key look in its spring line-up, which is landing online as we speak. The one high street store that seems to read my mind every single season is & Other Stories, as it manages to perfectly tread the line between ‘statement’ and ‘classic’, creating pieces that have a point of difference, but won’t quickly date in your wardrobe. This year there are five items that I’m most impressed by at & Other Stories, and am drawn towards the knitwear and outerwear sections in particular. Like all Scandi brands right now, & Other Stories has heavily leaned into the knitted vest trend and has lots of cosy tanks that you can wear with bare arms (if you have the heating on high) or as a clever layering piece. It is also creating lots of beautiful cosy knitwear and loungewear that is more elegant than jogging bottoms, such ...
I won’t bore you with the usual ‘new year, new you’ aphorisms, because really, most of us barely have the energy to prop-up our ‘old’ selves, let alone fabricate some new shiny version. Henceforth, our January motto shall be: ‘new year, same you’, but hopefully with the addition of a few small comforts to get us through the next four weeks—be it good coffee from the nearby cafe or a weekly catch-up call with your BFF. H&M continues to champion the neutral palette that worked so well for it last year, only this time around the brand has become more experimental with textures. Rattan, marble, velvet, and cotton come together to create a pared-back but cosy ambience in any room. Then there’s Arket, which is serving up its own take on the eclectic interior movement, the minimal Scandi way. You’ll find ceramic plant pots in happy colours, adorable cutlery to make every mealtime special, and a blanket so popular, we see it in the homes of just about every influencer we follow. And finally, while the mid-century vibe is still evident at Zara, the brand is also taking the rustic interiors approach this season, with oversized jugs that double up as vases, rustic stools, and gingham fabrics coveri...
If H&M wasn’t on your shopping radar before 2020, chances are that, now, it absolutely is. Even in the face of a harsh retail market, the high street mega brand has had a knockout year, and seemed to have a knack for designing the pieces we actually wanted to wear in that precise moment, before we even knew we needed them in our wardrobes. Many of these items were so in-demand, they proceeded to sell out faster than banana loaf baking tins. Now, to list every H&M best-selling item of 2020 would likely take hours and would require the entire Who What Wear team to down tools and pour all their energy into it. So, we decided to take a sartorial walk down memory lane to revisit the cult H&M pieces that you can still buy a very good homage of. Fr...
