H&M is often a go-to shop for many due to its wide arrange of items, including basics and trend-driven pieces. In fact, one of my good friends considers the retailer to be one of her staples when she’s looking to add a few fresh items into her wardrobe. On that note, she recently asked me for my thoughts on some of the new H&M items I’m personally loving that she might be into as well. I ended up texting her six key pieces that I think could work well given their versatile and forward nature. Essentially, I think the edit could pair quite nicely with other basics in her closet. Intrigued? Keep scrolling to check out the six items in question. I pulled out a range of other items that could pique your interest as well. You Deserve to Make Mon...
It’s been a while since I’ve thoroughly combed through what H&M has to offer, so this week, I visited a few of the stores to get a feel of its new pieces. Having worked in retail for the brand for a couple of years in the past, I noticed that H&M’s style has drastically changed. It used to lean more into bold colours and patterns, but now it’s gravitated towards a more simplistic approach. I was really struck by the dominant neutral colour palette. When it comes to specific categories, its coat game is pretty strong this year. I found myself being drawn to the outerwear pieces the most. It has a good variety when it comes to styles from quilting to more structured tailoring. Here are a few of the current pieces that I would love to add to my wardrobe. You ...
A couple of the Who What Wear editors and I were discussing the high street’s A/W 21 trends the other day, and the main thing we noted was how similar they were to last year’s offering. And you know what? It really is a breath of fresh air. Scroll through any new-in category right now, and you’ll see plenty of cold-weather heroes: puffer coats, chunky boots, crew-neck knits and clean-lined tailoring. The emphasis seems to be on classics over gimmicks and versatility over novelty. Has the concept of trends taken a bit of a bashing over the last 12 months? Undoubtedly, and it shows. Here at Who What Wear UK, we firmly believe that you don’t need to part with serious cash to get your hands on that perfect mood-lifting look, and with the high street offering up plenty of winning autumn buys right now (thank you, Arket, Mango, H&M, et al.), giving your wardrobe a refresh just got a little bit easier. Add to this the fact that the high street is no longer reserved for transient trends (and instead developing its offering of time-tested staples), and you’ve got yourself a winning combo. Case in point: On our wish lists this month have everything from COS’s perfect winter dress to Weekday’s on-point straight-leg jeans. Together, they make the ideal new-season capsule. So much goodness, so little time. So if you’re looking for that litt...
Our philosophy when it comes to shopping is all about buying the best you can at your budget and looking for pieces that are interesting, useful or beautiful and will also go the distance in your wardrobe. When shopping on the high street, it can be easy to be tempted by passing trends or shiny new things, but it’s important to stay true to your own personal style and the things you know you will actually wear. While we don’t stand by the idea of a Zara haul, you can find some amazing pieces there that will last for several years. Our editors all have sharp fashion eyes, and so each has shared five or so pieces they think are worth buying at Zara right now. From chunky knee-high boots to an amazing red coat, these are all winter staples with a stylish twist. Keep scrolling to sho...
Hands down, Zara has to be my favourite high street brand and I know I’m not alone in my adoration. In fact, I get a little too excited when the weather starts to shift into autumn, because it means that Zara—the experts in winter dressing—will be providing me with an reliable rotation of cool pieces to get me through the rest of the year. Zara has been my go-to for basics that will stand the test of time: great knitwear, beautiful dresses and brilliant footwear are just a few of the categories I’ve bought into in the past, and these pieces still serve me well now. I know I can always rely on the Spanish brand, whether I’m looking for something trendy or something a little more understated and classic. You Deserve to Make Money Eve...

It’s almost impossible to think of a time when blazers didn’t dominate my wardrobe. Sure, I’d worn them at school. (I was probably one of the only students who dutifully did so and, dare I say, enjoyed it.) However, after leaving high school and enrolling at art school, they served no purpose in my closet. That was until I landed my first magazine internship in London. Unlike my hometown, which, at the time, had no Zara to speak of, it felt as if there was a branch on every street corner. As such, during my four-week placement, my love of Zara only grew and grew, and subsequently, so did my blazer collection. For the purposes of this feature, I decided to count how many blazers I have in my wardrobe. In total? Thirteen. And how many of them are from Z...
We have, hands down, the best high-street in the world, and our favourite stores are already serving up a host of autumnal goodness by way of woollen shackets, toasty cardigans, quilted outerwear, and so much more. Out of all the brands out here, we’re particularly impressed by Mango, Zara, and M&S’s edits, which, between them, tick off every noteworthy autumn trend going. Although there is more Bottega available than one street style photographer can capture alone, you’ll also find that the attendees of London Fashion Week like to wear pieces from the high street as much as the next human being. The difference is, perhaps, that editors, buyers and the like have a little more experience when it comes to choosing the affordable items that really look expensive and really do last. As a discerning bunch, we’re pretty averse to throwaway fashion or wearing something only once, so the time spent behind selecting key items from cheaper stores is something you can all benefit from. We’ve done a great deal of the trawling, the trying and the sending back to feel confident in what we do actually recommend. The street style ...
As an editor at Who What Wear I spend hours upon hours looking at new-in sections, and so over the years have developed a knack for spotting products that will sell out or have huge appeal with our readers. A few months ago there was one dress in particular which I had a feeling was destined for cult status—a ruched midi dress from COS. It came in two colourways and featured a simple 90s-style midi silhouette, however the ruched detailing on the waist and fuller skirt made it a little more relaxed. Well, I hate to brag, but the style was out of stock within a month—I even bought the black iteration myself. We thought you might like to know that the dress is back in a very AW21 shade of cobalt blue. And yes, the entire team is in love. Scroll down to shop the dress and s...
