Last in Line Announce New Album Jericho, Release Single “Ghost Town”: Stream

Last in Line — the supergroup bringing together singer Andrew Freeman, bassist Phil Soussan (ex-Ozzy Osbourne), and former Dio bandmates Vivian Campbell (Def Leppard) and Vinny Appice (ex-Black Sabbath) — have announced that their third studio album, Jericho, will arrive March 31 via earMUSIC. In advance of the album, Last in Line have unleashed the first single, “Ghost Town.” “The song for me describes breaking a cycle from different perspectives,” Freeman said of “Ghost Town” in a statement. “On a personal level it could be family, career or life expectations, putting a person in an unwanted or unwelcome space. On a grander scale it addresses government expectations. Non-sensical, unethical ideas and laws that become the norm, while turning a blind eye to larger problems.” Related Video ...

Metallica Unleash New Song “Screaming Suicide”: Stream

Metallica have unveiled the new song “Screaming Suicide,” the second single from the legendary metal band’s forthcoming album, 72 Seasons, out April 14th. “Screaming Suicide” follows lead single “Lux Æterna,” which the band debuted in late November upon the announcement of 72 Seasons. Frontman James Hetfield says of the new song, “‘Screaming Suicide’ addresses the taboo word of suicide. The intention is to communicate about the darkness we feel inside. It’s ridiculous to think we should deny that we have these thoughts. At one point or another, I believe most people have thought about it. To face it is to speak the unspoken. If it’s a human experience, we should be able to talk about it. You are not alone.” Advertisement Related Video The thrashy tune is accompanied by a performance music ...

Lzzy Hale and Chris Daughtry Perform “Man in the Box” with Alice in Chains Tribute Band: Watch

Can you imagine playing in a cover band, only to be joined onstage by two real-life rock stars? That’s just what happened in Nashville earlier this week. Halestorm singer Lzzy Hale and multi-platinum rocker Chris Daughtry took the stage with an Alice in Chains tribute band at a local venue, performing a rousing rendition of “Man in the Box.” Nashville venue The Basement East hosts “Grunge Night,” and on Tuesday (January 10th) that included an Alice in Chains tribute band called Into the Flood. Hale and Daughtry showed off their powerful pipes while trading vocals on AIC’s breakthrough single “Man in the Box.” The night also included a rendition of “Rain When I Die” featuring Lzzy and her Halestorm bandmate Joe Hottinger. “Funny thing is the dress I wore is something I actually DID wea...

Liturgy Share Choral Piece “Angel of Sovereignty” Ahead of Upcoming Double Album: Stream

Liturgy have shared the choral piece “Angel of Sovereignty” ahead of their upcoming double album 93696, out March 24th. Outwardly, a two-minute song that’s almost exclusively the sound of a children’s choir seems like a bizarre choice for a single. But Liturgy have been known to throw a curveball, and the track epitomizes the project’s uncompromising nature. There are no traditional rock instruments; nor is there anything remotely metal about the piece. However, the same compositional complexities that run through Liturgy’s “heavier” offerings, if you will, are still at work here. The arrangement of the vocal melodies is unconventional and beguiling — a test for listeners both in its choir-only format and composition. ††† (Crosses) Release Cover of George Michael’s “One More Try”: Stream

††† (Crosses) — the duo featuring Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno and producer/multi-instrumentalist Shaun Lopez — have released a cover of ’80s pop singer George Michael’s “One More Try,” coupled with an animated visualizer. The George Michael tune is part of the duo’s annual tradition of releasing a cover around the holidays. It began in 2020, when they unveiled a surprise cover of “The Beginning of the End” by Cause & Effect on Christmas Eve. They followed that up in 2021 with a cover of “Goodbye Horses” by Q Lazzarus. “One More Try” originally appeared on George Michael’s 1987 debut solo album, Faith. Crosses give the song a slightly darker feel — with synths, reverb and Moreno’s impassioned vocals — while maintaining its pop sensibility. The duo performed all of the instrument...
