Acclaimed Anvil Documentary to Receive Theatrical Re-Release

Anvil! The Story of Anvil, the 2009 documentary following the cult Canadian heavy metal band Anvil, is receiving a theatrical re-release this fall and will also be hitting digital streaming services later this year. Directed by Sacha Gervasi, the acclaimed documentary shed light on one of the hardest-working metal bands that never made it during the 1980s. Formed by singer/guitarist Steve “Lips” Kudlow and drummer Robb Reiner, the band has trudged forward for decades despite a lack of commercial success, as earnestly depicted in the film. In fact, it was the documentary itself that gave Anvil their biggest career boost to date. Featuring interviews from Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, Lemmy Kilmister, Slash, and more, the film put Anvil on the radar of metalheads who were perhaps previously unawa...

Exhumed Announce New Album and US Tour, Unleash “Drained of Color”: Stream

Exhumed are returning with a new album, To the Dead (out October 21st), and shared the gruesome video for lead single “Drained of Color.” The band has also announced a Fall 2022 US tour in support of the upcoming LP. The extreme metal vets deliver six minutes of pummeling death metal with “Drained of Color,” combining chugging rhythms and breakdowns with grindcore vocals and frenzied blast beats. The band has always had an affinity for toeing the line between death metal and grindcore, and this track is another fine example. Exhumed are also outspoken horror movie fans and get to star in their own gory video for the single. Cut between performance footage, the band members find themselves in a distant past, dressed in antiquated attire. The group revels in libations and games of chess unti...

Ozzy Osbourne Swore Off Acid After Talking to a Horse for an Hour

Ozzy Osbourne has had his fair share of run-ins with animals over the years, including famously biting the head off a bat onstage in 1982. But a lesser known story involves the metal icon taking acid and talking to a horse for an hour. The Daily Star recently dug up some Ozzy quotes from the 2015 Black Sabbath biography Symptom of the Universe by Mick Wall, and it’s since been picked up as a “new” story by several outlets. While the story itself isn’t new, it’s certainly worth sharing. “At that time in America, people were very fond of lacing your drinks with acid. I didn’t care,” Ozzy said in the book. “I used to swallow handfuls of tabs at a time. The end of it came when we got back to England.” Advertisement Related Video He continued, “I took 10 tabs of acid, then went for a walk in a ...

Ozzy Osbourne: Eric Clapton Questioned “Jesus” Lyric in Collaborative Song “One of Those Days”

Ozzy Osbourne’s upcoming album, Patient Number 9, features a plethora of legendary guest musicians, including guitarist Eric Clapton on the track “One of Those Days.” In a new interview, Osbourne revealed that Clapton wasn’t exactly on board with one of the song’s lyrics. While speaking with Classic Rock magazine, Osbourne predicted that the line “One of those days that I don’t believe in Jesus” in the chorus would “cause shit” once the song is released. In fact, he revealed that Clapton questioned the lyric while they were recording the tune. “[Clapton] said, ‘Oh, I’m not sure about that lyric’,” recalled Osbourne. “So we tried to replace it with some alternatives. We did ‘One of those days where I don’t believe in Christmas,” but it didn’t sound right. Losing faith in Jesus makes much mo...

Tommy Lee Says He Shared Nude Photo While on a “Bender,” Urges Fans to “Pull Your Fucking Junk Out”

Tommy Lee has explained the full-frontal nude selfie he shared across his social media accounts earlier this month. During Mötley Crüe’s show in San Antonio, Texas, on Sunday night (August 21st), the drummer disclosed that he was on a “bender” when he uploaded the headline-making photo. He also encouraged male audience members to “pull your fucking junk out.” The veteran rocker’s nude pic stayed up on Instagram and Facebook for several hours before being taken down, and still remains on his Twitter account more than 10 days since he first posted it on August 11th. Now, it appears that a drinking spree led Lee to share the explicit photo for all to see. “A couple of weeks ago, we had like a two-week break off the tour, and I went on a motherfucking bender, bro — a bender,” said Lee fro...

Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson Dances Like Any Other Awkward Dad at Son’s Wedding: Watch

Metal singer, pilot, author, accomplished fencer: Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson is a man of many talents. Dancing at weddings doesn’t appear to be one of them! The legendary vocalist could be seen cutting the rug at the reception for his son Austin’s wedding earlier this month. Dickinson might be known for his energetic stage presence, but it turns out he’s like any other awkward dad on the dance floor. Facebook footage from the reception sees Dickinson in lively spirits, vibing and flailing his arms about as he shimmies and shakes next to his freshly wedded son, who beams a huge smile. It all looks like a cracking good time, and Bruce certainly has no shame about his dance moves. In fact, he’s quite the trooper. Advertisement Related Video Austin is Bruce’s son with his second...

Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox keep the fun going with a cover of Limp Bizkit’s “Nookie” in the latest edition of their “Sunday Lunch” series. The King Crimson guitarist and his singer wife are perhaps honoring Bizkit frontman Fred Durst, who celebrated his 52nd birthday on Saturday (August 20th), or else they’re just being their usual frisky selves with the risqué performance. Toyah is wearing a sheer blouse with black pasties, while Robert is sporting a shimmery sideways baseball cap as they deliver the nu-metal anthem. Behind them, a sign on their kitchen cabinet reads “Fripp = Nookie.” Advertisement Related Video The couple’s recent “Sunday Lunch” performances have included Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train,” AC/DC’s “Back in Black,” Slipknot’s “Psychosocial,” Rammstein’s&nbs...
