Although the official “Bay Strikes Back Tour” has been postponed until 2022, Testament, Exodus, and Death Angel brought the joint bill to the Fox Theater in Oakland on Saturday (November 27th) for a sold-out one-night gig this past weekend — giving their hometown fans a chance to celebrate the legacy of not only the music, but also the rich history of all three bands. Judas Priest Unveil Rescheduled 2022 North American Tour Dates
Judas Priest have rescheduled their 2022 “50 Heavy Metal Years” North American tour. Queensrÿche have replaced Sabaton as the support act for the new dates. Judas Priest were forced to postpone the remainder of their fall tour when guitarist Richie Faulkner nearly died after suffering a major heart emergency during the band’s set at the Louder Than Life fest in September. Faulkner’s aorta ruptured onstage during the band’s last song, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he underwent a 10-hour life-saving surgery. Faulkner is now headed toward recovery and Judas Priest appear ready to return to the road in 2022. Mayhem and Watain Announce 2022 North American Tour
Norwegian black metal legends Mayhem and Swedish black metal veterans Watain are teaming up for a co-headlining 2022 North American tour. Blackened speed metal band Midnight will serve as support. The tour, dubbed “The Sanguine Sodomy of North America,” kicks off March 7th in San Francisco and runs through an April 3rd show in Joliet, Illinois. Ministry have expanded their spring 2022 US Tour with Melvins and Corrosion of Conformity, adding 13 more dates to the trek. Gojira and Randy Blythe performed their collaborative song “Adoration for None” together for the first time ever during the former’s headlining concert last night (November 1st) in the Lamb of God singer’s hometown of Richmond, Virginia. Blythe appeared on the studio version of the track from Gojira’s 2008 album The Way of All Flesh, and it took over a decade before the French band and the Lamb of God frontman to perform it live on the same stage. At the time the song was recorded, Gojira were emphasizing elements of death and groove metal in their sonic onslaught — the perfect canvas for Blythe’s guttural vocals.
