Lagos governor confirms appointment of agric commissioner

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has confirmed the appointment of Ms Abisola Olusanya as the substantive Commissioner for Agriculture. The confirmation was contained in a circular issued on Wednesday by the State Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola. Sanwo-Olu wishes the new commissioner a successful tenure in office and congratulates her on the appointment. Olusanya was first appointed into the State Executive Council on Aug. 20, 2019, as a Special Adviser on Agriculture. She was similarly appointed as the Acting Commissioner for Agriculture on June 8 upon the resignation and subsequent coronation of the erstwhile Commissioner for Agriculture, HRM Oba Omogbolahan Lawal, Abisogun II as the 15th Oniru of Iru Kingdom. The top federal investigator of election crimes in the US has resigned just hours after Donald Trump’s attorney general William Barr authorised probes into claims of voter fraud. Richard Pilger, director of the election crimes branch of the Department of Justice, stepped down from the post he has held since 2010 on Monday. The branch director, Richard Pilger, handed in his resignation within hours of Barr’s authorization. Ukrainian president tests positive for coronavirus

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Monday he tested positive for the novel coronavirus but felt fine as infections surged in the country. “Despite all quarantine measures, I also had a positive test,” Zelensky said on Facebook. The 42-year-old leader said that his temperature was 37.5C but that he felt “good”. He will self-isolate and continue to perform his duties, he added. “Most people overcome Covid-19. Both agencies made their intentions known when the Head of National Office, WAEC, Patrick Areghan, visited the Postmaster-General of the Federation, NIPOST, Adebayo Adewusi, in Abuja. The General Manager, Corporation Communications, NIPOST, Franklin Alao, said in a statement on Friday that the WAEC official told his host that the purpose of his visit was to collaborate with NIPOST in the area of logistics. IBEDC implements revised service tariff

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) says it has began implementation of the revised service-based reflective tariff as approved by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). IBEDC Head, Branding and Corporate Communication, Ms Angela Olanrewaju said this in a statement in Ibadan on Tuesday. EEDC implements new revised service reflective tariff in South East

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), on Monday, said it had begun implementation of the new revised Service Reflective Tariff (SRT) within the South-East. The review was based on the outcome of joint consultative meetings held between Federal Government, labour unions and stakeholders, following concerns expressed over the basis for the Service Reflective Tariff earlier planned to be implemented from Sept. 1, 2020.
