Harvey Weinstein Defense Focuses on His Abnormal Testicles

Harvey Weinstein’s lawyers are arguing during his Los Angeles sexual assault trial that his accusers are unreliable because their accounts failed to mention his abnormal testicles. The topic has already come up several times, Variety reports, and is expected to remain a focus of ensuing testimony. During opening statements to the jury, the prosecutor, deputy D.A. Paul Thompson, spoke about a 1999 surgery that relocated portions of Weinstein’s genitalia. “Because of an infection, his testicles were actually taken from his scrotum and put into his inner thighs,” he said. On October 24th, Jane Doe #1 took the stand. A European model who spoke with the help of a translator, she accused Weinstein of a violent hotel room assault in 2013. She said Weinstein forced her to perform or...

Angelina Jolie Reveals She “Fought” with Brad Pitt Over Working with Harvey Weinstein

In a new interview, Angelina Jolie opened up about how Harvey Weinstein affected her relationship with ex-husband Brad Pitt. Speaking to The Guardian, the actress first reiterated her experience with the disgraced Hollywood producer while filming 1998’s Playing by Heart. “If you get yourself out of the room, you think he attempted but didn’t, right?” she said. “The truth is that the attempt and the experience of the attempt is an assault.” (Weinstein has denied Jolie’s experience in the past. She was just 21 years old at the time.) The Those Who Wish Us Dead star went on to reveal she later turned down a role in 2004’s The Aviator alongside Leonardo DiCaprio to avoid working with the producer again. “I said no because he was involved. I never associated or worked with him again. It was har...

Harvey Weinstein Trial Witnesses Call for Defining Consent in Law to Prevent Sexual Assaults

Onetime aspiring actress Dawn Dunning and New York actress and model Tarale Wulff, who were key prosecution witnesses that helped convict Harvey Weinstein on rape and criminal sexual assault in March 2020, came out in support of New York State penal law reforms to define the meaning of consent in sexual crime cases on Tuesday. “By applying consent in general laws, we will make it clear that the same consent that protects your property protects your body,” Dunning told a press conference in New York City after New York Assembly member Rebecca Seawright unveiled Bill #A6540, which would define consent in that state’s general laws. Under the Seawright proposal, consent will be defined as “freely given, knowledgeable and informed agreement… obtained without the us...

Weinstein Sexual Misconduct Settlement Confirmed by Bankruptcy Judge

Once a sexual misconduct claim is allowed, each accuser will have the choice of whether to release all future claims against Weinstein. If a woman chooses to release him, she’ll get what the examiner determines to be her full share. Those who choose not to release him will only receive 25 percent of the value assigned to their claim using the points system, and the rest will go to the insurance companies. The deal includes a mandatory perpetual release of claims against The Weinstein Co. and TWC board members and execs, including Bob Weinstein. The financial penalty for not releasing claims against Weinstein, and the mandatory release of claims against the others, drew sharp criticism from women who object to the deal. They also argued that women who have rape claims against Weinstei...

Ashley Judd’s Sexual Harassment Claim Against Harvey Weinstein Revived by Appeals Court

Harvey Weinstein will have to face a sexual harassment claim from Ashley Judd even though the actress was never actually employed by the disgraced movie mogul. On Wednesday, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decided that California Civil Code § 51.9 encompassed their relationship sufficiently to provide Judd with the ability to sue him for sexual harassment. Judd alleges in her complaint that she became Weinstein’s victim when the movie mogul made demands on her in a hotel room about 20 years ago. Judd says that she only escaped after relenting to a deal where she would let him touch her if she won an Academy Award. Later, Judd says she was in serious discussions for a big role in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings, but that opportunity was torpedoed after Weinstein or someone ...
