Indy can't help but go after the "dial that could change the course of history," Harrison Ford Gets Pulled Back from Retirement in Indiana Jones 5 Trailer: Watch Eddie Fu
Disney and LucasFilm have offered the first trailer for the upcoming Indiana Jones 5, which is officially titled Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The newly revealed trailer offers a glimpse at a de-aged Harrison Ford, going toe-to-toe against a familiar adversary: Nazis. Though it’s not explicit in the trailer, the upcoming film will center around the space race between the United States and Soviet Union in 1969. “The simple fact is that the moon-landing program was run by a bunch of ex-Nazis,” co-screenwriter Jez Butterworth recently explained. “How ‘ex’ they are is the question. And it gets up Indy’s nose.” The film’s main villain Voller, played by Mads Mikkelsen, is based on Nazi scientist/eventual NASA engineer Wernher von Braun. Based on the trailer, it looks as if Indy and Voll...
Indiana Jones will be taking on a familiar adversary in the upcoming fifth installment of the Harrison Ford film series. According to Empire, the still-unofficially titled Indiana Jones 5 will pit the part-time archeology professor against Nazis — this time in the 1960s. Among other revelations, it was revealed that the plot of IJ5 will center around the space race between the United States and Soviet Union in 1969. Though it’s unclear exactly how Ford’s character factors into the Cold War competition, co-screenwriter Jez Butterworth laid out a clear source of contention for Indy’s anti-Nazi sentiments. “The simple fact is that the moon-landing program was run by a bunch of ex-Nazis,” he shared. “How ‘ex’ they are is the question. And it gets up Indy’s nose.” “It’s not just that the model ...
After weeks of rumors, it’s finally official: Harrison Ford is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross beginning with Captain America: New World Order (via Deadline). Ford will be taking over the role from the the late William Hurt, who passed away back in March of this year at the age of 71. Hurt played Ross for 13 years, starting with 2008’s The Incredible Hulk and ending with 2021’s Black Widow. Now, Ford will be stepping into the mustache for the fourth Captain America film, set for a May 3rd, 2024 release. He’ll star alongside Anthony Mackie, whose Sam Wilson assumed the Cap mantle and shield in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Also set to appear in the film are Shira Haas (Israeli superhero Sabra), Tim...
The blaster that created the million-dollar question “Who shot first?” for generations of Star Wars fans has now become the million-dollar smoking gun, as the prop used by Harrison Ford’s character Han Solo in 1977’s Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope was recently sold at auction for $1,057,500. The sale occurred at a collector firearm event hosted by Rock Island Auction Company with initial estimates for the DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol ranging from $300,000 to $500,000. During the proceedings, the auctioneer noted the increased press from Comic-Con leading up to it and hyped the item up by saying, “The world is watching on this.” Purportedly the only remaining model in existence of the three made for Star Wars, the blaster design was derived from a German Mauser pistol. George Lucas h...
Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford are joining the ever-expanding Yellowstone universe. Paramount+ has announced that the highly decorated actors will star in the latest prequel of the neo-Western’s origin story. Currently titled 1932, it debuts on the streamer in December. Coming from Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan, 1932 will follow the Dutton family during a time of western expansion at the intersection of the Prohibition and Great Depression, where pandemics and a historic drought also made life difficult. It’s the follow-up to Sheridan’s 1883 starring Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill, which tells the story of how the Duttons came to own the Montana land that became Yellowstone Ranch. Meanwhile, the Kevin Costner-led Yellowstone debuted in 2018 and just wrapped...
Believe it or not, Harrison Ford is about to star in his first-ever recurring TV series role. The Indiana Jones icon will hit the small screen alongside Jason Segel in Shrinking, a forthcoming Apple TV+ comedy from a pair of Ted Lasso alums: co-creator Bill Lawrence and writer Brett Goldstein, who also stars as Roy Kent. Ford will play a down-to-earth therapist named Dr. Phil Rhodes, whose recent Parkinson’s diagnosis pushes him outside his comfort zone in terms of both his career and relationships. He shares a practice with his protégé Jimmy (Segel), who decides to abandon his previous training and ethics and tell his clients exactly what he thinks — for better or worse. Segal, Lawrence, and Goldstein will all write and serve as executive producers. Shri...
Is that the crack of a whip or the sound of Harrison Ford’s knees? The great actor’s new film, Indiana Jones 5, has been delayed until June 30th, 2023, just two weeks shy of his 81st birthday. The fifth installment in the archeological adventure series was planned for July 29th, 2022, and so the wait adds almost a year to the production calendar. Ford will be joined in the film by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelson, and Antonio Banderas, while James Mangold is directing. It’s currently in production, and the process hasn’t been easy on Ford’s body. In June, the now-79-year-old injured his shoulder rehearsing for a fight scene and missed several weeks recovering. And while physical therapy sounds grueling, it probably pales in comparison to the pres...

According to Deadline, the Emmy-winning Fleabag actress will co-star alongside Harrison Ford in the fifth installment of the iconic adventure series. Unlike the first four movies, the most recent being 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Steven Spielberg will switch from director to producer, while James Mangold (Ford v Ferrari, Logan) will step into the directors seat. Don’t worry, though: legendary composer John Williams, who’s scored every film in the franchise, will return to craft its soundtrack. Th...
The Trump campaign already compared itself to the Death Star, and so it makes sense that they’ve provoked the Rebel Alliance into action. Now, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and General Han Solo have — oh fuck it, we can’t do this today. Democracy is under threat and the world is on fire, so please enjoy Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford from that space wizard thing you like explaining why you should just fucking vote already. Hamill and Ford appeared in separate advertisements from The Lincoln Project, an anti-Trump super PAC run by former GOP operatives. The organization is somewhat problematic, but fascism is on the rise, so we’re not worried about that right now, okay? Hamill’s advertisement is called “Absentee” and it makes the case that legally-cast votes should be treated as votes, even tho...
