Coronavirus: Nigeria now at tipping point – PTF

The Federal Government, yesterday, took stock of its response to the COVID-19 pandemic vis-a-vis the attitude of Nigerians to embracing safety precautions, and concluded that the country was now at a tipping point. This came as government announced its decision to establish oxygen plants in all states of the federation as part of measures to resolve the “oxygen crisis” that had engulfed some of the isolation and treatment centres in the country. Bauchi reassures on timely release of counterpart funds to development partners

Bauchi State Government has reassured development partners and other stakeholders in the health sector that, it will not relent in its effort of providing a safe and habitable environment in hospitals across the state. The reassurance was given on Sunday by Governor Bala Mohammed who also reassured development partners on the desire of his administration towards the timely release of counterpart funding for the fulfilment of all the agreements and commitments signed. FCT health secretary discharged from isolation centre

The Acting Secretary of the FCT Health and Human Services Secretariat, Dr Mohammed Kawu, has been discharged from the Asokoro District Hospital, Abuja, where he has been receiving treatment for COVID 19. Kawu disclosed this in a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists in Abuja on Saturday moments after he was declared free of the Coronavirus. Ekiti polytechnic produces hand washing and sanitiding machines

The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, has produced machines for hand washing and sanitiser as part of its contribution to governments’ efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the state. Speaking at the inauguration of the hand-free and pedal-operated equipment on Saturday, the Rector, Dr. Dayo Oladebeye, commended the efforts of the Department of Mechanical Engineering on the initiative. Kano cases of coronavirus now 602

Kano State Ministry of Health has confirmed 26 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state. The ministry said in its verified Twitter handle @KNSMOH, that the total confirmed cases of coronavirus recorded in the state stand at 602. It explained that there were 526 active cases, 50 discharged and 26 deaths. “Update as at 11:47 p.m. May 10, 2020; 26 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed. “Total confirmed cases in Kano State are now 602, 18 additional patients discharged and five deaths recorded,” it said. Ten person associated with Lagos House in Marina test positive for coronavirus

Ten person said to have been associated with Lagos State House, Marina, have tested positive for coronavirus and are currently in isolation. The state Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, disclosed this on Thursday while giving update on the situation of the pandemic in the state. According to him, the status of the 10 people was discovered just as the third test conducted on the state governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his wife which came out negative.
