Gryffin Wants the Grammys to Add a “Best Dance/Electronic Producer” Category

Will we start to see more Grammy Award opportunities for electronic music producers in the future? Gryffin Announces Release Date of Sophomore Album, “Alive”

Fans of Gryffin can finally mark their calendars for his sophomore album, Alive. In just a few short weeks, they’ll be able to take in the long-awaited follow-up to 2019’s scintillating debut album, Gravity. Over the past five months, Gryffin has dropped a number of collaborations set to appear on his second studio album, including tracks with OneRepublic (“You Were Loved”), Tinashe (“Scandalous“) and EDM.com Class of 2021 star Blanke (“Colors“), among others. Gryffin is also currently on the road for an eponymous tour, which will see him traveling to Brooklyn, Denver, Los Angeles and other major cities for a special show dedicated to Alive. Gryffin and Tinashe Team Up for Sultry Dance Anthem, “Scandalous”

Gryffin and Tinashe have teamed up for a scorching dance anthem, “Scandalous.” Gryffin is currently gearing up for two of his largest headlining shows ever at Red Rocks Ampitheater and LA State Historic Park, respectively, as well as preparing for the release of his sophomore album, Alive, the follow-up to 2019’s genre-bending Gravity.  Released via Darkroom/Interscope, “Scandalous” is sprinkled with Gryffin’s signature house music sound. A new high-profile collab between Kygo, Gryffin and Calum Scott aims to make your heart skip a beat. The trio have released “Woke Up in Love,” tying a bow on the summer of 2022 with an uplifting dance record. In a stentorian vocal performance, the prolific Scott explores the complex feelings associated with chasing the highs of an elusive love. “Lately, I’ve been losing these nights / One more heartbreak and I’m done with this / Shadows on the ceiling, they don’t fight / But I still argue for the hell of it,” he croons. In a dream collaboration of sorts, Gryffin has joined forces with EDM.com Class of 2021 star Blanke for a new single, “Colors.” “Colors” is a cathartic love song that finds Gryffin returning to his roots as he gears up for the release of his hotly anticipated sophomore album, Alive. The aching track is reminiscent of the signature, guitar-driven sound on which he glided to the upper echelon of dance music around 2016.
