GRiZ and Subtronics’ “Griztronics” Added to Fortnite’s In-Game Radio

Players who enter vehicles inside the game will now have the ability to compete to the sounds of the duo’s collaborative hit. Back in August, one of the world’s biggest video games, Fortnite, released a new update that added cars to the game. While it offered a distinct change of pace to the traditional gameplay, it also opened the door to even more musical crossovers with the introduction of in-game radio stations.  Chances are if you attended a bass music show in 2019 or used TikTok at all, you’ve been exposed to GRiZ and Subtronics‘ infectious collaboration “Griztronics.” Back in the days of actually attending concerts in-person, the song was played in nearly every set that featured trap and dubstep music. Now, fans can get sucked deeper into its...

GRiZ Celebrates LGBT History Month With Dazzling “Medusa” Remix Package

Last Friday, multi-instrumentalist GRiZ celebrated LGBT History Month with an official remix package for his hit “Medusa,” which features fellow queer DJ and producer Wreckno. GRiZ Shares Preview of Soulful, Glitched Out Unreleased Bass Track

Most artists don’t have the ability to hop on social media and send their fanbase into a frenzy by sharing simple previews of new music. GRiZ, however, isn’t most artists. As if releasing a new EP and a full mixtape in the span of one month wasn’t enough, EDM’s de facto Funkmaster General took to Instagram today to tease more new music, sharing a preview of a massive unreleased bass tune. The yet-to-be-named ID strays from the ferocious dubstep flavors of his recent releases, instead boasting uplifting, breezy chord progressions and a soulful vocal refrain of “you’re gonna wanna be high for this, alive for this.” The drop, however, is signature GRiZ with it’s head-bopping cadence and wonky yet groovy bass patches. Check out the preview below, ...

GRiZ and Deadbeats Link Up for All-Star Showing On “Bangers[6].Zip” EP

It’s been a banner year for GRiZ, from his fan-favorite livestreams to a steady stream of releases that show no sign of slowing down. Bangers[6].Zip, released October 16th via Deadbeats, is a powerhouse collaboration with Zeds Dead‘s imprint, spanning all things bass, dubstep and trap. The project’s three tracks are a strong showing from GRiZ, whose enthusiasm for experimentation and sonic exploration is evident throughout.  “No Doubt” kicks the EP off to a characteristically psychedelic start, handily integrating energy-building vocal samples for a wobbly, tension-relieving drop. The project then picks up the pace with “Juicy” with Blunts & Blondes, adding forward-thinking synths and complex percussion for a more upbeat addition...

GRiZ Preaches the Tao of Now, Talks Chasing the Golden Hour Pt 3

Grant Kwiecinski, better known to fans as sax-playin’ bass DJ/producer Griz, seems to have it all figured out. The international headliner has collabs with Snoop Dogg and Bootsy Collins. He plays charity shows each Christmas in Detroit, makes an annual pilgrimage to Thailand, and on “Know Time Like The Present,” the intro track of his latest release Chasing the Golden Hour Pt. 3, he gets real deep, talkin’ about “I’ve stopped trying to try … The universe just is / Being is the answer.” All that said, Kwiecinski wants you to know, he certainly does not have his “shit together.” “I’m a mess,” he laughs, “but I’m also not a mess. I’m a multi-faceted being who is balancing. I tip the scales, and then they get tipped back … [I’m] not always balanced and can’t be, because that’s just not how it ...

GRiZ Shares Preview of Wobbly Unreleased Dubstep Tune

Although fans are still trying to wrap their heads around the release of last month’s scintillating Chasing The Golden Hour Pt. 3, GRiZ is already teasing a new song. For this track, Detroit’s finest will be returning to the bass side for a new dubstep offering. On Twitter, he shared a short video preview of the new single. Alongside the music, he stated that he would be finishing the new song that day, so fans have already begun to hold their breath waiting for its official release. It’s worth noting that the name on the project file shown in the video reads “medusa dubstep remix update [medusa dubstep remix],” leading many to believe that the new song is a remix of his and Wreckno‘s Pride Month anthem of the same name. While he’s b...
