A friend with weed is a friend indeed, and GRiZ is taking his best buds national with the launch of two premium cannabis lines. Let’s be blunt: the strain of the pandemic is brutal for many. And if GRiZ’s last album somehow didn’t toke your breath away (sorry, can’t help these puns), his new custom weed will. GRiZ has announced the sale of two brands: the THC-focused Astro Hippie and the CBD line Telescope. The former, an homage to DIY stoner culture that will soon debut in GRiZ’s home state of Michigan, is described as a potent series of flower strains designed for “experimenters” who want to blast off. Many believe weed is a love language, and Astro Hippie, GRiZ says, is a billet-doux to the cannabis c...
I suppose that behind every story, there is a story within itself. Every body of work has its own life to it. The inspiration, birth, creation, struggle, moments of clarity, release into the world… And if the creator gets lucky, their story becomes a living narrative that is retold over time. And time is a funny thing to me. An unfolding of the ever-present current moment wherein all projections of past and future might be manifested into the eternal now. This is now. This is a story of what was, what might be, and can only exist right now. This is a time machine of words and ideas where we can use the present moment to travel anywhere and to any moment: the stream of consciousness that we all flow into each other. This is my busy mind making nonsense of spirituality. This is my struggle t...

With his steady release schedule and special show runs, GRiZ is truly the gift that keeps on giving. His latest series of concerts, the sold out “GRiZMAS in July,” proved no different, bringing jovial spirit to the shores of Wilmington, North Carolina from July 30th to August 1st. The event first touched down for two nights at Live Oak Bank Pavilion before heading to the beach for a daytime pop-up on the 1st. Marking the occasion were several unique sets from the beloved bass music artist, who released his seventh studio album, Rainbow Brain, in late July. Every sound in his repertoire, from deep throwback cuts and wobbly riddim to headbanging bass and soaring saxophone solos, made an appearance, making the experience truly one-of-a-kind. For lack of a better phrase—GRiZ simply cannot be stopped. Since the release of his debut album, 2011’s End of the World Party, GRiZ has apparently never taken a break. His dogged work ethic has clearly not relented after the announcement of his 7th album, which is due out later in the month of July. Titled Rainbow Brain, the record, GRiZ said, pays homage to the bass music icons before him. This means that it will likely stray from the more tame sound of his most recent album, Ride Waves, and will display some of his fan-favorite bass front and center. GRiZ took to Twitter to share previews of a few Rainbow Brain cuts, including a mind-bending collaborative track with fellow dubstep star Jantsen called “Burn Up The Floor.” GRiZ recently dropped the first single from the album, the titular “Rai...

GRiZ has announced a one-day only Labor Day performance at one of his de facto homes, Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre. This special one-off performance will see the Denver-based producer throw down three completely unique sets spanning his laid-back style (as heard in 2020’s Chasing The Golden Hour, Pt. 3), his renowned ‘10-’17 set, and a “Full Flex” bangers-only performance. After indicating in 2019 that he wouldn’t return to Red Rocks, GRiZ fans have been left to wonder after a year of show cancellations what’s coming next from the leading electronic producer. Following a string of early 2021 collaborations with the likes of Elohim to Ganja White Night, among others, and three recent solo tracks—“Tie-Dye Sky,” “Vibe Check,” and “Astro Funk...
GRiZ has had an impressive year so far, releasing a series of stellar singles including “Vibe Check,” “Ease Your Mind” with Ganja White Night, “Bring Me Back” with Elohim, and “Astro Funk.” Today the electro-funk star has returned with yet another new track, “Tie-Dye Sky.” Earlier this year GRiZ announced a forthcoming collection of dance-forward music he dubbed “very reminiscent of the era of music that [he] grew up with as a young producer with a twist of all the skills [he has] learned over the years.” His latest tune is undeniably reminiscent of dubstep’s golden age, while showcasing GRiZ’s innovation as an artist in the space.
